“The store, huh?” I shook my head. “What couldn’t wait until morning, baby girl?”

Dana tapped my arm with a box. I dropped my gaze to it, then whipped my head toward Gillian. “A pregnancy test?”

“I’m late. I wanted to surprise you.” She squeezed my fingers. “Sorry about your car.”

My car? It was replaceable. This woman? They broke the mold when they made her. She was priceless.

“Wow,” Dana muttered. She didn’t sound like she was judging us.

But I knew some people would. I really didn’t give a shit if they did.

Age was just a number.

Gillian was my everything. She owned my heart. Loved me completely, as I did her.

We were perfect for each other.

Epilogue

Gillian

A YEAR HAD passed in the blink of an eye after the accident. I gazed at my beautiful platinum wedding band. Grayson and I had eloped to Vegas on my twentieth birthday. Well, eloped with my dad and Billy in tow. Jared and Don and their families had joined us too.

I didn’t want a big to-do. I only wanted to marry the man of my dreams.

I brushed the tips of my fingers through my husband’s dark hair as he slept. The morning light filtered in through the sheer curtains, cascading on the white bassinet beside our bed. It was empty and would be for another couple of months until our daughter would arrive.

The night of the accident, I’d run out to the twenty-four-hour pharmacy to buy a pregnancy test. My period was four days late. I’d assumed I was pregnant.

It turned out I wasn’t. Grayson and I were crushed.

Three days after I was released from the hospital with a nasty gash on my left leg and a grade three concussion, Grayson proposed. And I’d said yes. Then we had the uncomfortable task of telling Billy about us. It hadn’t gone as I expected. Billy stunned us by fist pumping the air and cheering like he was at a Dodgers game and they’d just won the World Series. He was thrilled about Grayson becoming his brother-in-law.

I had cried, feeling the weight of the prior couple of weeks lifting off my back. My dad had forgiven Grayson, and life slowly went back to normal, albeit a new normal.

Dad and Grayson still hung out with their friends but they talked about sports and current events. No more women talk.Sly Foxhad been retired, and there were no more stories for the guys to drool over.

Grayson and I had agreed to put off getting pregnant until after the new year. As it turned out, Alyssa was conceived sometime around the first of the year. With my dad’s blessing, we were naming our daughter after my mom. When Laura found out about it, she’d had a fit. It was then my dad realized she wasn’t the right woman for him. He’d been single since, taking time for himself and to hang out more with Billy. One day, I hoped he found someone he loved almost as much as my mom.

I trailed the tip of my finger lightly down the bridge of Grayson’s nose. It was how I always woke him up.

He cleared his throat. “Good morning, Mrs. Fox.”

“Morning, my handsome Fireman Fox.” I pressed my lips to his. “I need you.”

One eye opened. “Didn’t you just need me a few hours ago?”

These pregnancy hormones were crazy. Some days I was in a constant state of arousal. Of course, Grayson was usually working on those days. When he was home he took care of my every need.

I shrugged, lifting my round body up and straddling him. “I guess. Are you too tired to satisfy your wife?”

His other eye opened. “Fuck no, baby girl. You take whatever you need from me.”

I rubbed my pussy against his erection. The stinker was teasing me. This man lived with a boner for me all the time. We both had a healthy sexual appetite and could never get enough of each other.

He lifted my hips and impaled me on his cock. My head fell back.

“God, you feel so good,” I ground out in utter ecstasy.
