“My sisters?” Chaos asked, reaching for his phone.
“Gone.” Reaper said, finally standing up, facing his club. “The only women here are, Remi, Phantom and Jessica.”
“What the fuck is going on?” Massacre asked.
“Your cousin, Lorenzo was shot about an hour ago. He’s currently in surgery right now. Giovanni has put his whole family on alert.”
“What the fuck!” Massacre shouted, reaching for his phone making a call, as he asked, “Has my brother left yet?”
“Yes. He made his flight.”
Rushing from the room we all heard as Massacre asked, “Sal, how is he?”
“Ascari made his move.” Reaper stated, looking at Phantom who was standing next to me. “He killed the two remaining members of the Original Seven. Their bodies were delivered to Bullseye’s house. Thrown on the front porch for all to see. Their bodies were eviscerated along with a single bullet to the head. The new police chief is on his way here now. Chaos, your sister Angelina found the bodies.”
“Fuck!” Chaos cursed, then asked, “What about Maria?”
We all knew that Chaos was raising his sisters alone. The club helped when they could but Chaos was extremely protective of his little sisters. Angelina was the oldest, at sixteen but Maria was only eleven. She was a sweet girl too. Shy.
“Angelina called me right away. She was able to keep Maria away.” Reaper advised.
“Why? What game is this fucker playing?” Shadow asked concerned.
“He’s trying to frame Reaper and Bullseye for murder,” the Guardian said, taking a seat. “Jesus Christ Keller, remind me never to make you angry.”
“Bullseye ain’t even here,” Biscuit stated the obvious.
“What do you need us to do?” Shadow asked.
“I need those bodies taken care of fast. Phantom I need conformation on their identities. Fingerprints, the lot. Hammer, Bayou, Gator and Biscuit, help Shadow do what he does best.”
“It’s gonna be messy, boss” Shadow said, heading for the door.
“Just get it done.” Reaper said, as all five men left to take care of the bodies. Turning to the remaining group he added, “Smoke and Viper, I need you two taking control of the main gate and there better not be any issues with the two of you. Understood?”
The whole club knew of the tension and animosity between Smoke and Viper. It was stupid really. Something that happened years ago when Viper and Smoke were busy pranking each other. Well, one night Viper decided to let one of his pet snakes loose in Smoke’s room and the snake bit him. It was a harmless garden snake, but Smoke refused to forgive the man. Since then they hardly ever worked together. Which was odd, considering they used to be best friends.
Both men left doing as asked.
“The rest of you find something to do. I don’t care what it is, just look busy when the police chief shows up.”
As the room thinned out, I never took my eyes off Reaper. I wasn’t anywhere near done with him. I wanted answers. This just wasn’t about two dead bodies. I refused to believe that.
When it was just Phantom, Ghost, the Guardian and Reaper left in the room, Reaper turned to me. “I know you don’t trust me right now. After what happened, I wouldn’t trust me either. I did what I did because of this,” he said, holding out a sheet of paper towards Jess.
I watched as she reached for it and opened it up so we both could read it.
Max,
If you’re reading this, then I am dead. No worries I left you a back-up plan. You need to find a woman named Jessica Banks. She is from the Florida Chapter. She doesn’t know much about her father and she doesn’t trust the Golden Skulls, so tread lightly. Tell her I said it’s time to go camping. She will understand.
I’m sorry to dump all of this on you. That wasn’t my intention. I am sure by now you’ve realized this mess is only beginning, that other factions are now in play. Be careful Max. Watch your back and protect my daughter.
Kitty.
“That came three days after her death.” Reaper stated. “You see, I didn’t want to lay all this on you Jess. I wanted to gain your trust but I went about it the wrong way. I’m sorry for that. Maybe I should have just showed you the letter, I don’t know. All I know is that I am deeply sorry for what I put you and Savage through. He didn’t betray you, Jess. He even lied for you. He’s a better man than me.”
“You knew who I was even before you brought me here?” Jess asked, looking at the letter.
