Savage

There was no mistaking it now.

Jess had information the club needed.

Information she could have only gotten from Kitty.

As soon as Reaper told her who Solomon really was, we all saw the fear on her face. Then she had to go and ask, ‘She wasn’t lying, was she?’, letting Reaper and me know she knew more than she was letting on.

It didn’t take a genius to know she was talking about my sister. We already knew that they knew each other when they were kids and if I was a betting man, which I was, I would bet everything I owned that Jess was Kitty’s pen pal. The one my sister wrote to all the time. Which meant that Jess had letters from Kitty.

I needed to see those letters if Jess still had them.

God, I hoped she still had them because Reaper would lose his shit if she didn’t. Too bad I was already fucking pissed at Reaper, so his tantrum would have to wait. This fucking mess had gotten a hell of a lot harder thanks to his impromptu visit to the damn park. I suggested taking her to get her to relax. Not to fucking scare the shit out of her. We’d already did a bang-up job earlier. I needed her relaxed and happy, comfortable around me. Now, she was holed up in her room and I knew she wasn’t coming out for anyone.

How the fuck did Reaper expect me to do this if I couldn’t get her to trust me?

Fuck!

Passing off Hailey to Ari, I headed for church and waited for Reaper to return. I took the time to calm myself before my President showed up because if he walked in right now, I would beat his ass.

I watched the minutes tick by and when Reaper finally showed his face, I steeled mine.

Slamming the door behind him he asked, “Well? Did she say anything on the way back?”

My eyes narrowed as I sarcastically replied, “What the fuck do you think?”

“Fuck,” Reaper said, taking a seat. “She’s probably up there right now thinking of ways to bolt.”

“Can you blame her? You threw the damn kitchen sink at her. Her whole life just came crashing down around her. She has a right to be scared man.”

“You need to find a way to fix this.”

“I was in the process when you showed up at the fucking park. What the hell man? I thought we agreed to let me handle this?”

“I didn’t know she knew Sandman.”

“She grew up in the same Chapter as him. They are roughly the same age. They knew each other. Fuck Reaper. I can’t do what I need to do if you interfere!” I roared.

“Calm down Savage. It was an honest mistake. I took Remi to the park to walk my kid out of her. Sandman goes wherever she does. I didn’t know you’d be there.”

“The fuck you didn’t. There isn’t a damn thing going on in this club that you don’t already know about. So don’t give me that shit. You went to the park to force her hand. Well congratulations, you did. Now she doesn’t trust anyone.”

Someone knocked on the door before it opened. Seeing Chaos poke his head in, Reaper sighed. “What?”

“Uh…just thought I’d let you know that Jess is making a break for it.”

“Fuck!” I shouted, jumping to my feet. Running from the office, past all my brothers, I had just stepped out into the bright sunshine to see Jess ride past the guard shack on my bike.

My fucking bike!

“Uh, Savage,” Massacre walked over, wiping his hands with a shop rag. “Didn’t know your woman could ride.”

“Neither did I,” I growled.

“She isn’t wearing a helmet.”

“I can see that Massacre.”
