“Who the fuck is this bastard?” Vicious asked.

“I ran his name back when Jess was taken in Florida,” Phantom stated. “For all intents and purposes, Alexander Goldman is dead. He died the night Kitty and Solomon were born. There is nothing on the man. No social, no taxes, no property, nothing. I searched school records, social media, everything. There isn’t even a picture of Alexander Goldman as a child. In fact, I couldn’t even find a birth certificate. His existence has been completely wiped. The man is a virtual ghost. Whoever took Jess and sent this package is not Alexander Goldman.”

“But he looked like Kitty. Their eyes, they even had the same smile,” Jess muttered, looking about the room.

“Facial similarities can be confusing. Certain mannerisms can be construed to emulate a familiarly connection. I am not saying what you saw isn’t correct Jess, I’m just saying that the possibility of this man being Goldman is highly unlikely.”

“What do you remember about this man?” Reaper asked.

“He was an older man. He was tall, about six-foot six maybe taller. A solid two-fifty, maybe two-eighty. Muscular. Greying blonde hair. He wore an expensive suit, like really expensive. I would even say it was tailored just for him. I noticed the watch he was wearing. It was a Patek Philippe.”

“A what?” Massacre asked.

“A Patek Philippe. Those watches are at least two-hundred grand a piece. Maybe more,” Phantom advised, as brothers whistled.

“Go on Jess,” Reaper asked.

“The man was in his late fifties, maybe early sixties but he didn’t look old. In fact, he was quite robust. I could see the tiredness in his eyes but there was a strength to him. The man looked more than capable of handling anything that came at him. He had several men with him. The man was more than he looked. He wasn’t someone I would want to cross.”

“Hold up. Back to the note. It said sister,” Vicious interrupted. “What does that mean, Reaper. Mia is dead. You have no other sister.”

I wondered that too. It was well known that Darrin Reynolds killed Reaper’s sister Mia when he walked into the clubhouse demanding Reaper hand over Remi. Mia was caught in the crossfire.

I didn’t like how Phantom looked at Reaper or when Reaper looked at me. I was missing something. Something important. We all knew that Pop’s wasn’t Reaper’s biological father. That the man who raised him was in fact his own brother. His biological father, William Doherty fucked Caroline, who then married William’s son, James claiming the baby she was carrying belonged to James. Reaper came from a fucked-up family, that was for sure, but there was no one else. No other siblings that any of us knew about.

So when Reaper turned to face me and Jess, I held my breath waiting for him to lower the boom.

“Phantom and I looked over those photo’s you sent Savage. We came up with a timeline. Now understand, this is only speculation but we are starting to believe that my biological father was a bigger asshole than we thought.”

“What pictures?” Jess asked.

“The ones at your mom’s house,” I muttered, never taking my eyes off Reaper. I didn’t like where he was going with this.

Not at all.

Holding Jess tight to me, I said, “Continue.”

“Phantom believes that Toxic wasn’t Jessica’s father. He was on a club run in Mexico when Candy got pregnant. There were only two people in those pictures with President patches. James Doherty and Moonshine.”

“But you don’t think it was them, do you?”

Reaper shook his head. “No.”

“Just say it.” I growled.

“A simple DNA test will confirm our suspicions but I believe Jessica’s biological father was William Doherty. Which if she is…she is my…”

Jess shook her head, her body shaking as I held her as she whispered, “No.”

“If she is, then you know what that means.” Reaper added.

“She has a target on her back.”

“Yes.”

“I’m nobody,” Jess said, getting up from my lap. “Please leave it alone!”

That was an odd response.
