“Oh and thanks for the pretty faces. In about one minute I will know everything about you two wanna-be-hackers. Right down to what size tighty-whities you wear.”

“Son of a bitch,” Jonathon growled, grabbing his personal computer. “Let’s see if you can handle this, bitch,” he muttered, slowly typing something into his laptop.

“Okay Lorenzo. Sunshine Child was created in 1990 by Sylvia St. James. As I said before, the charity is legit. It helps children that are from troubled homes. As for Sunshine Kids, well that’s different. Now this is just a cursory look but that charity is not part of the main chapter. It’s completely run off the books. On the outside, the charity homes orphaned kids but it’s also linked to several adoption agencies and hospitals. Wait, that can’t be right.”

That stopped me.

Hearing the woman type away, I moved over beside Lorenzo and asked, “What hospital?”

“Villa Emmanuel Medicale Center, in Verona, Italy.”

“That’s where Cat was!” Lorenzo stated.

“Oh shit,” The woman cursed, right before my computer went back to its original screen.

“Son-of-a-bitch!” Jonathon roared, slamming his fist down on the table. “I almost had her!”

“Well, that told us nothing,” Lorenzo said, getting to his feet. “I don’t like this Gideon. My woman isn’t safe anywhere. It’s like the whole fucking world is looking for her.”

“I know. I’m working on another place. Somewhere where no one will ever find her. I just need more time to get it set up.”

“I thought for sure Phantom would have information that would help us. Instead we got nothing.”

“Wait a minute!” I shouted. “That was Phantom?”

“Yeah,” Lorenzo replied. Looking at Jonathon, we both knew who she was, what she meant to all of this and she had just reached out because Lorenzo asked her to.

Rubbing the back of my neck, Lorenzo sighed, “We are fucked.”

“Not necessarily. She said the charity is linked to several adoption agencies and a hospital. Jonathon which one do you want?”

“Adoption agencies.” He huffed.

Ignoring everyone around me, I went to work. Whatever was going on, I was going to find out. I had to. Just then my phone rang. Picking it up I answered, “Yes.”

“Found the team.”

“On my way,” I said, disconnecting the call. Getting to my feet I added. “The search is going to have to wait. Bullseye is back.”

“He found them?” Jonathon asked, grabbing his computer and putting on his jacket.

“Yeah.”

“That didn’t take long.”

Grabbing my jacket, Jonathon and I headed for the door before I turned to Lorenzo and said, “Lorenzo, don’t destroy my building.”

Jonathon and I raced to my vehicle and after getting in, we sped off into the night. Time was of the essence and we were running out of it fast.

“Gideon, none of this makes sense,” Jonathon said, frantically typing into his computer. We were in a race against time. I hated leaving Lorenzo and Donatella but I knew they were safe. No one knew about Sanctuary and as long as they stayed inside, they would be fine.

I, however, was another story.

The Division was moving faster than I had anticipated. I knew they wanted Donatella. She had what they needed. I barely got her out of my mother’s clutches before figuring everything out. Then, I realized that there was no place she would be safe. Eventually they would find her. I just hoped I had the right security measures in place to protect her.

“What doesn’t make sense?” I asked, swerving around a car as I raced to the airport. I knew Bullseye was a damn good marksman but I never considered his other abilities. The man had a nose like a bloodhound. He could find anything or anyone. Just point him in a direction and let him go. The man was quickly becoming an amazing asset.

“The charity Sunshine Child or Sunshine Kids. Your mother is on the board of trustees of both, yet she only contributes to Sunshine Kids, the subsidiary charity according to her financials. When I dig deeper, I keep getting rerouted to dummy companies around the globe. Companies that have nothing to do with the charity. Look, here’s one right now. Nature’s Element. This company produces eco-friendly vitamins. Then there is Glowing Desires, a company that offers the latest innovative treatments in skincare. What the hell do these companies have to do with kids?”
