Kitty snorted and tried to pull her hands free. “I bet I can guess what you have in mind.”

I tugged her towards me and smiled as I kissed the tip of her nose. “If I didn’t know better, I’d think you were coming onto me. It’s a pity you’re not my type.”

“You might want to tell that to your little friend. I don’t think he got the memo.”

I let out a bark of laughter. I released her hands and curved my palms around her waist, pulling her closer. She settled over my lap, the snug position leaving no doubt about whether or not my erection had subsided.

My laughter eased as the mood shifted between us. Our eyes met, and she smiled. I was overwhelmed by the affection I felt for her. She reached out to stroke my cheek, and I moved my head slightly, as if I wanted to turn my face into her palm but thought better of it.

“Have you ever wondered what our life would be like if we never came back to the skulls?” she asked softly.

My thumbs swept over the curve of her hips. “Say the word, baby, and we can find out. I can get us out of here before anyone knows we're gone. We can grab Hailey and disappear. Everything is ready to go. Just tell me that is what you truly want, and I’ll make it happen.”

“You really would do that for me, wouldn’t you? You’d walk away from everyone and everything if I asked you too?”

I said nothing as I nodded, my gaze flicking to her mouth. “All I need is you, baby.”

She tucked her hair behind her ear. “I can’t leave Dylan.”

“I know.” I reached up and tapped her chin with my forefinger. “When this is over, we’re done. We leave. You, me, and Hailey. Promise me.”

Kitty let out a breathy sigh and tipped her head slightly to one side, her gaze traveling over me while she tried to decide if my wants lined up with hers. I waited patiently, letting her decide for herself. I knew I couldn’t make Kitty do anything she didn’t honestly want. This decision had to be hers alone. I laid everything out for her. She now knew what I wanted and now I needed to understand what she wanted.

“Yes.”

My eyes narrowed, “Yes?”

“I want a life with you, Dylan, and if that life is away from the MC, then so be it. I will always have Lucas and now Solomon. But you and Hailey mean more to me. So yes. When this mess is over, let's disappear.”

I raised my brows, smiling, “Really?”

She nodded. “Really.”

I kept my eyes on hers, grabbed her wrists, and guided them behind her back. I clamped them together at the base of her spine, holding her tightly. The change in position caused her breasts to thrust out mere inches from my mouth. My gaze lowered for just a fraction of a second, letting her know it hadn’t gone unnoticed.

Her attention dropped to my lips. Her humor disappeared as she swallowed hard.

I watched her closely, my blue eyes taking everything in.

“What?” she asked, feeling as if she’d suddenly lost her footing.

“Nothing. It’s just...” I gave her wrists a firm tug, and she sucked in a breath. “This is turning you on.”

She let out a harsh sigh. “I can’t help it. I get turned on over a new pair of shoes. It doesn’t mean anything.”

My mouth lifted at one corner. “You realize when this shit ends, and we leave, this is going to change everything between us.”

She shook her head. “It won’t because I will still be the boss.” Kitty moistened her lower lip and leaned closer. “And you will love it.”

“Still...”

“Just...hush.” She pressed her lips to my forehead, letting them linger there for a while, soaking up the warmth of my skin. Faint traces of her clean, crisp perfume drifted towards me, teasing my senses. My free hand swept up and down her arm, leaving shivers in its wake. She leaned back and took her time looking me over, drinking in the view of me while she decided where her mouth should go next.

I gazed up at her, my expression filled with amusement. “Are you done?”

Kitty smiled and touched her lips to my cheek. “Not even a little bit.”

She grew bolder and moved her mouth to my neck, leaving a trail of light kisses over my throat, a gentle lick here, a nibble there. My pulse beat strong and steadily, my chin lifting to allow her easier access. Her mouth traveled up to the curve of my jaw, and my whiskers prickled against her lips. She pressed a soft kiss there, then another, reveling in the masculine feel of me. “You smell good,” she said, nuzzling my throat.
