Enzo nodded. “How did she die?”
“My father forced her to suck my dick. I didn’t want it. Neither did she. She was terrified. When it was over, she wept, and I tried to help her. My moment of weakness cost her. I’ll forever regret it.” I really meant that too. If I could go back in time, I would’ve punched her in the face and knocked her down if it had meant she got to live.
E shifted and visibly swallowed.
Enzo nodded. “And your father? Word on the street is you’ve pissed him off. That true?”
It was my turn to nod. “It is.”
“What did you do?” Cole called out, looking intrigued. “Because as far as we’ve heard, you’re Matteo De Santis’s pride and joy. The sun rises and sets on your ass.”
“I wouldn’t let him fuck my wife.”
“Jesus,” Fox muttered, glancing at a passed-out Bianca. E peeked at her too, his brows crinkled.
“I guess that’s it then,” Enzo said.
My phone buzzed in my pocket.
It was go time.
“I guess so. Let’s get this shit going. Are you going to let one of my men take my wife to safety?”
A wide smirk spread across Cole’s face. “I think it would be more fun if we delivered her ourselves. Makes a statement, you know?”
I ground my teeth.
Enzo snapped his fingers, and Cole immediately went to Vin and freed him. E untied Bianca, keeping his hands on her shoulders so she wouldn’t slide off the chair. If he moved his hands an inch on her body, I’d gut him like a fish.
Cole shoved Vin from his chair. He tumbled to the concrete groaning softly behind the duct tape. Cole fisted his hair and hauled him to his knees before Fox tore the tape off his mouth.
Vin let out a gasp of pain, his face battered.
“Hey, man,” he greeted me in a soft rasp. “Took you forever.”
“You look like shit,” I said thickly.
“And you look as perfect as ever,” he said with a soft chuckle. He let out a cough which racked his whole body.
“Say your goodbyes,” Enzo said.
I stared at Vin, knowing it was definitely time to get this shit over with. My pulse roared in my ears. “I love you.”
His lips quirked up in a small smile. “I fucking love you too, hornet ass.”
I grinned at Bianca’s nickname for me and gazed at her.
“I’d like to kiss my wife goodbye,” I said.
“Quickly.” Enzo gestured toward her.
I stepped over to her and kneeled. I cradled her face in my hands. She was out cold.
“Wasp,” I murmured. “I’m so sorry, baby. I love you. I wanted to give you a better honeymoon than this. I’ll make it up to you. Promise.” I pressed my lips to hers and tasted her for what I hoped wasn’t the last time before I got to my feet.
“Done?” Enzo asked as Cole leveled his gun on the back of Vin’s head.
I stared at my best friend, who gave me a slight nod.
