“Please.” My chair squeaks as I lean backward.

“You’re doing remarkably, Savannah.” He rubs the course stubble lining his strong jaw, and an unstoppable image of him between my legs looking up at me as he devours me between my legs pops into my head. I wiggle in my chair. Relief comes from the friction.

“Thank you.” I clear my throat, and try to eliminate the image from my mind. “I’m sensing there’s abuthere, though.”

He twists his mouth into a half-smile, revealing the sexiest little dimple in the side of his cheek. “You’re cynical, and I understand why.” He crosses his arms over his chest. Tattoos bend and stretch from the sleeve of his t-shirt. “There’s no but. I think hiring you is the best thing I’ve done.”

“As far as hiring managers go, your track record isn’t good. So yeah, you’re probably right.”

His eyes narrow, piercing through me like an arrow through my heart. My breath catches. How can one look from Quinn Strong send my panties into a pool of wetness?

“Touché.” He takes a deep breath, his eyes locked in on mine. “I’d like to take you up on your offer.”

“Offer?”

“A drink. I do want to get to know you, Savannah, and I know just the place.”

“Oh,” I say. “That offer.” With my feet pulsing and my king sized bed beckoning, my body begs for me to head directly home. But my brain flashes a neon sign reminding me that when your boss asks you out for drinks, you take it. Even if somewhere deep down I secretly hope that this isn’t strictly a business drink. That maybe the man finds me as attractive as I find him.

Oh Lord, wake up Savannah!

A man as rich, powerful, and dead sexy as Quinn Strong probably has his pick of women. I can’t imagine he’d actually be interested in someone who works underneath him.

Quit selling yourself short, woman!

“Yes.” I say before I can talk myself out of it. “Just let me freshen up a bit and I’ll meet you there.”

“Nonsense.” When he stands I’m reminded of how gigantic the man actually is. My eyes follow him, making me lift my chin to keep eye contact. “I’ll drive you.”

“But my car—”

“Sav, it’s one drink.”

I know how this goes. One drink leads to two, and two to three. Before you know it we’re wrapped up in each other’s arms, naked and loving it. That is, until the morning comes and we both regret our decision. I’ve been here before, but never with my boss.

Still, there isn’t one part of me that wants to say no. That I should take this opportunity and get to know Quinn Strong. As the old adage goes, it’s not what you know, it’s who you know. Plus, he’s easy enough on the eyes that I’m guaranteed to have a good time.

I hold my finger up, closer to his face than comfortable. “One drink.”

His eyes sparkle down at me. A mischievous smile curls the corners of his lip. Standing this close to him makes me feel tiny in comparison, helpless and feminine. I fucking love it.

He steps closer, closing the gap between us. “It’ll be your call. If you only want one drink, then we’ll only have one drink.”

My eyes narrow. I have to play it cool even though being this close to him sends my body temperature through the roof. “My call, huh? How uncharacteristic of you.”

Quinn leans down, sending a wave of his clean, cedar scent in my direction. “It is.” He presses his finger against his full lips. “Don’t tell anyone. I’ve got a reputation to protect.”

A stupid, giddy little laugh escapes my mouth and immediately I wish I could take it back. “I promise.” When he steps away, taking the sexual tension between us with him, I know that I’m in trouble. I’ve got the hots for my boss, and if given the chance, you bet your ass I’d sleep with him.

Quinn

I usually makeit a point not to date employees, not that this technically is a date, but watching Savannah work her ass off all weekend in my shop was a total turn on. I’ve never seen anyone with such an all-encompassing work ethic and have so much fun in the process. The fact that the woman is built like a brick house with a smile that lights up the room is an added bonus. How could I not want to take her out for a drink, or dinner?

Or make her my wife.

I do a mental double take. Where the hell did that thought come from. I’m saved by the bell chiming overhead as Savannah steps outside. “Where are you parked?” She asks, her breath foggy in the night air. I click my key fob and my Porsche’s headlights flicker. “That’s your car?”
