My heart flutters in my chest. “Jack,” I lick my lips, biding my time. “My feelings for you are strong. Stronger than I care to admit, but what about the job? I can’t just give up on my dreams because I might be falling in love with you.” Oh my God, did I just say that out loud?
“I’m falling in love with you too, Sierra, and I would never make you give up this job. You’re too goddamn good at it.” Jack places his good palm against my cheek. Instantly, I melt into his touch. “I’m the CEO of this company. I make the rules, and I’ve given this some thought. If we feel this way about each other, and a stupid line on a stupid document is all that’s keeping us apart, I have the power to change it.” He smiles, running his thumb over my cheek. “For the good of us, yes, but also for the good of anyone who finds themselves in our situation.”
“The situation of sleeping with your boss before you know he’s your boss?” I tease. “What a conundrum.”
Jack lets out a quick laugh. My heart swells at the sound. “Maybe not our exact situation, but…yeah, something like it.”
“I like the way you think.”
The words are barely out of my mouth when Jack’s full mouth comes crashing down onto mine. He kisses me gently at first, but when his tongue parts my lips, our sweet moment turns into pure passion. My body reacts to him like it’s never reacted to anyone else.
“I’ve been dreaming of this.” He moans into my mouth.
“You and me both.” I climb on top of him, my panties practically soaked straight through. His rock-hard length presses into my center. I grind against him to relieve my own ache.
Jack winces. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” He says, “Well, my hand.”
“Oh yeah,” I say and take a moment to let my ponytail down. “Does it hurt, baby?” I lick my lips and smile.
“It hurtsverybadly.” He plays into the moment.
“Well, let me kiss it and make it better for you.” I nibble on his neck, causing him to inhale sharply. “Even though you’re the boss, I want you to do what I say.”
“Oh yeah?” Jack groans, his good hand finding my waist. I reach down and stroke him over his pants.
“That's right. Just sit back, relax,” I unzip his pants and lick my lips, “and let me do all the work.”
Epilogue
Jack
Five YearsLater
I peerthrough the doorframe of our hotel suite, watching my gorgeous wife prepare for the Media Awards. Her long, black cocktail dress fits her like a glove, hugging her voluptuous curves in all the right places. I’m so proud to have her and even more proud that she’s being honored tonight for excellence in design.
“I see you standing there.” Sierra says, fastening her earring.
“Busted.” I throw my hands up and step into the room. “I’m just admiring the most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid eyes on.”
“Is that right?” She says, a smile plastered across her ruby red lips. “You sure are a sweet talker.”
I press my face into her neck, breathing in her lavender scent. “Well, I have to be honest. I have an ulterior motive.”
“And what’s that?”
My hands wind their way around her waist, and I pull her close, enjoying the pressure of her full, round ass against me. “I’m hoping to get lucky after the ceremony.”
A little laugh escapes her mouth. She turns to face me and throws her arms over my neck. “If you play your cards right, maybe you will.” I kiss her softly on the lips, knowing I’ll have to run to the bathroom to wipe off the lipstick before we head down to the ceremony, but it’s worth it.
“You’d better get dressed, babe.” Her brow furrows.
“I thought you liked me best in only my underwear.” I tease her.
“You know I do, but the ceremony starts in a half-hour. I’d like to have a glass of champagne before we go down to suppress my nerves.”
“Whatever you want, baby.” I kiss her on the cheek, enjoying the feel of her soft fingertips running up and down my torso. I break away before I start to get too hot and heavy. We’ll save that activity for later tonight when my beautiful wife and I get back to the room, award in hand.
