“Not funny. Hurts.”

“Awww, baby. I know it does. But did you learn your lesson?”

“Yes, sir.”

“Then I did my job.” Taking a seat next to her, he lifted a bottle of water to her lips. “Slow sips, kitten. Good girl.”

When she’d polished off the water, he unwrapped a chocolate bar and broke off a piece to feed her. “I’m so fucking proud of you, Kit. You took your punishment like a champ and I swear I’ve never seen anyone look more beautiful than when you came with my cock in your ass. You were incredible.”

“Thanks.” The high from their scene was beginning to fade, and she could feel the doubt creeping in. But she didn’t want to ruin this for him, so she forced a smile and accepted another bite of chocolate.

“I’m going to get everything packed up,” he said when she’d finished the candy bar. “Are you good for now or do you need me to stay a bit longer?”

“No, I’ll be okay.”

With a quick kiss to her forehead, he disappeared into the crowd.

Settling back against the bench, she closed her eyes and tried to cling to that feeling of complete peace she’d had during and after their scene. God, she wished she could feel like that forever. Was that why people did this? To chase that high?

Was she a BDSM junkie now?

The thought made her giggle just as Austin returned with his bag and another bottle of water. “What’s so funny, kitten?”

“Just thinking.” Opening her eyes, she looked up at him, studying the hard lines of his face. Even when he was amused, his face seemed to be carved from rock. “I think I could get addicted to this. And if I do, does that make me a junkie? Would you be my dealer?”

“I better be,” he grumbled, but his eyes were light with humor. “You had a good time?”

“Yes. It was lovely. I just wish…” Unwilling to ruin his good mood, she shook her head. “Never mind.”

“Oh, no you don’t. ‘Never mind’ and ‘It’s nothing’ are no longer in your vocabulary. What is it?”

“I swear it’s—” Catching herself, she stopped and wrinkled her nose. “It’s not important.”

“Do you need another round with my strap, little girl?”

“No!” But even as she rushed to deny it, her body throbbed with need. She really was becoming a junkie.

“Then tell me what’s going on in that pretty head of yours.”

“It’s silly.”

“I don’t care.”

“It’s just, I wish that feeling I had during the scene could last forever, you know? Like nothing in the world mattered but being your good girl. I felt so… I don’t know. Free. And alive.”

“You’re dropping.” Crouching in front of her, Austin captured her hands between his and squeezed. “It’s totally normal. And for a lot of subs, the more intense the scene, the worse the drop. Let’s get you home so you can take a nice bubble bath and we’ll get ourselves some snacks. Whatever you want.”

“Cheetos!” Blushing at her outburst, she tried to tug her hand from his grip. “Sorry.”

“What are you apologizing for? Cheetos sound perfect. There’s a convenience store on the way home, I’ll pop in and grab whatever you want. Sound good?”

“That sounds perfect.”
