Leela

Crosbyhugs my waist and slams me close to him, kissing my mouth intensely. Almost angrily.

“You’re killing me, Leela.”

My voice muffled in the flannel shirt, I reply, “A simple thank you would suffice.”

He squeezes me tighter. “I love you, Leela.”

“I know,” I breathe.

We stand there like that for, I don’t know how long.

After several minutes, I take his hand in mine. “Let’s go inside and explain things to my sisters.”

He grimaces, then shrugs comically. “Or, you know, you could take me back to jail and toss me in the cell with the biker gang. That would be a lot less terrifying.”

“Come on. I want to be with you. You want to be with me. This is the way we do it. After this, you can introduce me to your biker club friends.”

Crosby tosses his head back and laughs, then snakes one arm around my shoulder and drags me into him to kiss my shoulder. “We’d better stay away. One visit from you and their dicks will shrivel, and they’ll all have to hand over their tough guy membership cards.”

Hand in hand, we go inside, brushing by the azaleas, the sun shining down on us, preparing to have maybe the most uncomfortable conversation in either of our lives.

TWENTY-TWO

Crosby

My Leela gripsme so tight, and her expression is tense.

“Let go, Kitten. You said yourself everything was going to be fine.”

“Is everything fine?”

She’s feeling some kind of way. Even with my cock buried deep inside her, she can’t shake the awkward conversation we just had with her sorority sisters. Together we explained everything. That my brother used my name and social security number to gain credit cards, rent an apartment, and set up a fraudulent drop-ship business at that address. When he disappeared and customers complained, the feds came looking for him and found all the shit in my name. So the local police were looking into me based on a false report from Meghan, reporting me for buying alcohol for minors. Meghan apologized when she realized what she’d done, but in the end, I forgave her because she was just looking out for her friend. I thanked her, even, for bringing everything to light. Who knows how long I would have lived my life with warrants out for my arrest if she hadn’t called the cops.

With the charges out of the way, everyone says they would be willing to give me a chance.

Hiking Leela’s thigh up and pushing in deeper, I have to keep my eyes from rolling back in my head. “More than fine,” I growl.

“Oh, Crosby. Don’t you want to roll me on top of you? Or flip me over and rut me from behind?”

On the contrary, I’m rather enjoying fucking her face to face. “This is nicer, isn’t it?”

“If we’re an old married couple.”

“Kitten, if we’re still making love like this when we are old and gray, I’ll be the fucking luckiest man alive.”

She smiles like the wicked, wonderful, sexy, sweet, feral cat that she is. The Leela that only I see. “Guess you won’t be recalling that bank transfer.”

And now it’s time to spill the truth. What I was going to tell her at the restaurant before I got arrested. “It was never about money. It was about obsession,” I say, pushing into her.

“What?”

“I was never going to recall that money. I just wanted to breathe the same air as you for five minutes. All this time, all I wanted was to possess you, but you had me all along.”

The look on her sweet face as I push into her is too much to bear. I slam into her again and fight back the urgent need to release that’s barreling towards me.

“I knew it. You’re just a big teddy bear.”
