Our eyes connect instantly while he takes the stairs down, a soft smile tugging at his lips.

I love this man.

There. I said it. The thought formed in my head before I could stop it.

And he doesn’t cease to surprise me.

Every step of the way, he’s been unpredictable, creative, dark, lustful, and unforgettable.

With every second given to me, he has become indispensable to me.

I flash a grin, although I feel tense. Not tense as in nervous. It’s the excitement in my chest, barely contained.

I can’t wait to spend some time with him this weekend.

It’s only us.

Us in the entire universe.

Us learning more about each other.

To say I missed him is an understatement.

I couldn’t sleep in his bed without thinking about him. And strangely enough, he was the only man I thought about.

Everything else got swept away.

Nothing mattered. Because it’s never mattered to him to begin with.

He looks at me like I’m his woman, and that feeling alone makes me melt inside.

I can’t pull my gaze away from the gray-blue light glinting between his lashes.

Swiftly, he pulls to a stop in front of me and gives me a quick once over.

My heart races madly.

“Welcome to Miami,” I say, smiling while he closes the space between us.

“Thank you,” he says, snaking his arm around my waist. “These are for you,” he adds, his eyes avoiding mine, a secret grin glinting in his gaze.

He hands me the flowers, and I take them and look at them, a blush tickling my face.

I look at him.

He’s still smiling. And so am I.

“Is everything all right?” he murmurs.

“Yes. Everything is fine… They’re beautiful,” I say. “Thank you.”

I push to my toes while he pulls me into his chest.

I kiss his cheek.

We don’t pull back.

And then we kiss. My lips locked on his. Our breaths intertwined.

A fresh scent of aftershave crawling into my nostrils, warming my skin.

“What do you want to do this weekend?” I ask quietly.

His eyes glint with pleasure and emotion.

“I want to love you… And forget.”

TO BE CONTINUED.
