Francisco moves his eyes away from his phone screen and slides his cell into his pocket.

“Having fun?” he tosses at me in a good disposition.

“Yeah… I actually am. I’m happy that we’re here.”

He gives me a double take.

“What?” I ask.

“Your tan looks great on you.”

“Thank you.”

Smiling, he lowers his eyes, his teeth grazing his bottom lip. His gaze moves slowly over my legs.

“Last night was great…” he murmurs, bringing his focus back to me.

I blush, remembering the time spent with him and Alejandro on the boat and then the wild bacchanal we had in that villa.

“It was, wasn’t it…?” I murmur, reaching over and picking up my drink.

He watches me sip wine while I’m hoping to cool off.

“Last night was crazy,” I say, unable to keep a smile at bay.

He tips his head back and looks down his nose at me with a shit-eating grin on his face.

So typical of him.

He studies my expression while I sweat in my dress.

“I see the big man has swept you off your feet.”

I breathe out a quiet, sexy chuckle.

“Is it so obvious?”

“What do you think?” he says, setting his elbows on the table and picking up the glass of liquor in front of him.

He tips it against his lips while I watch the entire process with undisguised fascination.

“The three of us make a great team,” he murmurs after swallowing the fiery drink.

“The four of us,” I correct him while he looks at the people in front of us.

“Yes. The four of us…” he murmurs, staring blankly at the view. “Soon to be the two of you…”

This normally would be intended as a joke, but it doesn’t sound like one, his smile fading.

I slide my hand to his forearm before my fingers meet his warm skin.

“Is everything okay?” I ask, waiting for him to shift his gaze to me.

He turns his focus back to me, and I search his eyes, looking for answers.

He seems lost in thought.

“Francisco…?” I murmur.
