Klaus took Poppy’s hand, leading her up toward his bedroom. He closed and locked the door, wanting privacy, and he didn’t know if his parents would come back.

His bedroom was always clean. Gone were any signs of him being a kid. No stuffed pillows or toys.

“Wow,” Poppy said.

What he did catch sight of was the photograph album he’d made up of Poppy, just lying on the bed.

He was going to kill his sister.

Rushing past Poppy, he stuffed the album into a drawer and turned toward her.

“Do I want to know?” Poppy asked.

“Probably not.”

She chuckled. “Okay, are you getting the sense that this seemed a little easier at the, you know, forest?”

Klaus shook his head. “No, this is easier.” He stepped toward her, cupping her face. “Did you wear your hair down for me?”

“No. I mean, yes. No, I don’t know.”

“I like it down.” He stroked his fingers down the length, twisting one of the curls around his finger.

“I don’t know what I’m doing.”

“Are you a virgin too?” he asked.

“Are you laughing at me?”

“No, Poppy. I would never laugh at you.” Even when he said all the nasty shit to her, he hadn’t found any of it funny. “I’m a prick. I have no excuse. No reasoning for what I did. I … I get that you hate me, and I accept it. I was mean to you, but I…”

She pressed a finger to his lip. “Shut up.” She gripped the back of his neck and pulled him down, pressing her lips to his.

He was more than happy to shut up.

There was nothing he could say or do that would forgive the years of him being a bastard. None of it made any sense to him at all.

It wasn’t like he was never attracted to her either, because he was. He loved her full hips, large tits, and curvy ass. All he wanted was her. All of her. He’d spend hours watching her, waiting for her. He would wait at the front of the high school, just to see her. Search for her.

He was fucking pussy whipped, and he hadn’t even seen it. Not even back then, but he should have known.

None of the other girls held his attention. He hadn’t cared about them in the slightest, and yet when it came to Poppy, she had mattered. He had needed to see her all the time. Even when they weren’t in high school, Klaus had made sure he caught a glimpse of the blonde beauty at least once every single day.

Was that why he bullied her? Because he didn’t understand what was going on?

It made no sense to him, but did love and mating ever make sense to anyone?

Deepening the kiss, he traced his tongue across her lips. This time, Poppy, touched hers to his. She tasted like lemonade, fresh air, and … freedom. Running his hands down her back, he went to her ass and gripped the soft flesh tightly within his grip.

She moaned his name, and he took a step back, and another.

Poppy’s hands were around his back, and they didn’t disconnect, even as they collapsed onto the bed.

She drew her hand toward his stomach, and Klaus paused with his hand on her ass. Poppy licked her lips once they had stopped kissing. She placed her palm on his hard, erect dick.

“Poppy?”

“Do you want me to stop?” She made no sudden movements.
