This wasn’t fair. She shouldn’t be aroused by the guy she hated.

Any normal person would be aroused by Greg. Older, more mature, seemingly wiser, and not-a-bully Greg.

She stopped by a soda stand that sold a homemade blend of lemonade, and she paid for her glass before stepping away.

The cold had to do something to her body. She downed the drink in two gulps, and the ice, well, she wasn’t going to allow that to go to waste, so she started to suck on the cubes.

Poppy glanced around, smiling at people who passed and trying to catch sight of Klaus.

He was nowhere to be seen. She wasn’t happy about that.

There were pack members everywhere. She caught sight of her mother. Lionel was close by, and she didn’t know if she was a little sad. He was trying with the wrong woman. Her mother had no intention of leaving the pack.

Poppy understood why. Pack was life. It was family. It was comfort.

Even Klaus, being a giant dick, she wouldn’t trade him. He was going to be her alpha one day.

He’s going to be more than that, if you let him.

She was near the dance floor, finishing off her ice cube, when someone suddenly grabbed her arm and pulled her away from the parties and the festivities. She knew who it was, so she didn’t fight it.

Everyone was so preoccupied with what they were doing. No one took notice of them as they were enjoying themselves. Loving any reason to party.

Wolves were creatures who loved to be close, and what better reason than a party, dancing. The chance to embrace and love life.

They made their way into the forest. Klaus walked for about five minutes, and then she was pressed up against a tree. A gasp fell from her lips when he suddenly sank his fingers into her hair.

“Do you have any idea how crazy you’ve driven me today?” he asked.

“Almost as crazy as you’ve made me.” She didn’t know where those words came from, but she also didn’t care.

Running her hands up his chest, she breathed in deeply. She licked her lips that were suddenly dry, and Klaus took a step toward her so their bodies were flush.

“This is a mistake,” she said.

“So you can crush my balls in the morning.”

She groaned, and then Klaus slammed his lips down on hers, and all logical thought left her. His lips were so good. They were everything she’d been craving, and she couldn’t make these feelings go away. There was no way she could stop. She didn’t want to, hungry for more.

Desperate for him. In need of only having him. She wanted him, so badly. All the damn time.

One of his hands slid out of her hair, going down to her hip, and then he went further, grabbing her knee and lifting her leg up and over his hip. She felt the hard ridge of his cock as he pressed against her core, and that felt even better.

Klaus plunged his tongue into her mouth, and she met him, feeling him. All of him. She was so wet.

He suddenly broke the kiss. “Fuck, Poppy. I need to stop,” he said, pressing his head against hers. He didn’t pull away.

“What are we doing?” Poppy asked.

“I have no idea, but, I … I’ve got to stop.”

“Yeah, we do.”

Neither of them moved.

She licked her lips.

“Or, we could go to your place,” she said. Everyone was at the party. They wouldn’t be interrupted, and Poppy couldn’t believe she’d been the one to make the suggestion.
