Edna looked at him, pleading for forgiveness. He was very attractive and seemed to care about what she thought. She knew she wasn't angry with him, but she was acting that way. She tried to be assertive, but his blue eyes derailed her plans — she couldn't take her eyes off of them. She wished to kiss him again and touch his cheek.

"Please, Edna," he said again, and she smiled. Her smile quickly turned into uncontrollable laughter, and she watched as he began to laugh as well. "Were you teasing me?"

Ronin stood up and quickly took herin his arms. She squealed as she was lifted into the air, but he held her safely against his chest and spun in circles, making her laugh even louder. He finally came to a halt and looked her in the eyes as her heart began to race. She had felt the same way at the pub. His proximity did things to her that she couldn't understand or control.

He placed her back on the ground and clasped her waist as his lips met hers. She willingly parted her lips to let his tongue in. They kissed for a few seconds before he kissed her softly on the foreheadwhile holding her close.

Edna advanced and stood on her tiptoes to embrace him. Her hands wrapped around his neck, and his armsaround her waist. She sighed deeply as she inhaled the raw cinnamon scent that starved her senses. She had the feeling she was in love with him. There was no one who had ever made her feel this way before, and no one for whom she would have fled her house in the middle of the night.

“Come, sit with me,” Ronin said as he parted from her and held her hand. They reached the log and sat facing each other. Edna ran her fingers through a lock of his golden, blonde hair, marveling at how silky it was. He smiled as he watched her touch him.

“How are ye so handsome?” she asked; once again wondering how she had gotten so lucky.

“How are you so beautiful?” Ronin asked in reply and she laughed.

“Now tell me, Ronin, who are ye?”

“You already know my name,” he answered softly, not betraying a single emotion.

“I do but who are ye? And what are ye doing here? Ye are not from around here or else I would have known ye. Your accent is different, and even though ye look like a highlander and perhaps even are one, ye are not one of us,” she said telling him all the things she had noticed about him.

“If I tell you who I am, it will ruin the mystery,” Ronin said with a laugh.

“Ah, and let me guess, ye like a good mystery?”

“I do, don’t you?”

“Perhaps, sometimes.”

Edna wasn't sure if she should have come here in the first place. The situation seemed risky and unpredictable, but she knew she wanted to be with him. She had never had someoneor been in a romantic situation like this before. She also knew she didn't know anything about him, and based on what Bryce thought of him, he was the enemy. She knew she should have been home instead of in the middle of the woods with him right now. He could be dangerous, but her heart wouldn't let her believe it.

She continued to stare at his kind eyes and warm smile. A man that looked like him couldn’t be evil. She just knew it in her heart. The feelings she had towards him were new, but they excited her. She did not know if she was falling for him, or if falling for him was even possible after knowing him for such a short time, but whatever this was – it felt unique and different. She couldn’t deny it, and she didn’t want to either.

“What are you thinking of, Edna?” Ronin asked, bringing her out of her reverie. She shook her head and looked at him with a smile.

“Nothing.”

Just then, Ronin snatched her from the log and placed her on his lap. He was strong, she knew, but he treated her as if she weighed nothing. He grabbed her lips with his and began kissing her deeply before she could say anything. She kissed him back, runningher fingers through his golden locks.

“Ronin,” she moaned as she shifted in his lap; straddling him. It was inappropriate but it felt so good. Edna moved softly; molding herself to his rising manhood. He continued kissing her and she could feel him moan as well.

Edna kissed him all over his face as he began to kiss her neck. She couldn't help but groanas he licked and bit all over her milky white flesh, intoxicating her. She was becoming more flustered by the second, and she could sense his desire. Her entire body felt like it was on fire. Her heart was pounding, and hisevery touch and kiss felt like a love song, a promise.

“I have never felt this way about anyone,” Ronin whispered; his voice deep with desire.

“Me neither,” she replied; feeling raspy herself.

Ronin nodded and grabbed her waist. He softly touched her thigh as he trailed his fingers under her gown; all the way toher womanhood. Edna waited with bated breath for the touch she had craved her entire life, but he paused.

“Don’t stop,” she whispered; looking deep into his eyes.

“This is inappropriate, my love,” Ronin replied; his voice heavy with strain.

Her heart swelled as she realized how much he cared about her and her purity. He didn't want to do anything that would be considered wrong or that she would later regret. She wanted him to touch her despite the fact that she was a virgin. She wanted to feel his fingers, to feel the emotions that would flood her as a result of the touch. Her feelings for himgrew stronger at that moment, and she took his hand again and tucked it beneath her gown.

“Edna,” Ronin whispered; running his fingers over her flesh.

His petal soft touch made herfeel as if she were the most precious thing on Earth, and he was afraid to hurt her. She felt vulnerable and loved in his arms. She'd never felt this way before, and she couldn't have imagined Ronin being so gentle with her. She was enjoying all of it, immensely, and knew that nothing in the world could compare to this feeling.
