Yeah, I’ve made up my mind, but that doesn’t stop me from teasing Bobby a little. Nodding, I turn my back to Ian and look Bobby square in the eyes. “Yeah, I was thinking of getting it here.” I cup my left ass cheek and smirk as Bobby’s eyes narrow. “I think it’d look badass.”

He’spreeeeettymuch daring me to drop my pants and try my luck.

Ian clears his throat nervously. “Oh, umm, okay. That’s not what I expected, but… I guess. If that’s what you want…”

I turn my head and watch Ian sweat as Bobby stares him down.

“Babe…” Bobby’s hands grip my arms as though he’s ready to pick me up and toss me out of here. He’s ready to physically remove me from the situation; from the studio, and possibly the state.

“No, stop. I’m kidding!” I smack a wet kiss on his cheek and turn back to Ian. “He needs to loosen up. Shoulder blade, please. I was hoping you could work it into the existing tree, but you’ll have to work with some ugly scarring.”

“That’s cool. I can do that, no worries.” Ian exhales noisily and turns back to his desk. In his head, I just know he’s screamingHallelujah!that he won’t be forced to stare at my ass for the next few hours while Bobby snarls over his shoulder.

I turn and cuddle into Bobby’s side while Ian makes final changes on his paperwork. “What are you getting done, babe?”

“I’m just adding dates.” His face softens and his lips curve, and dropping a kiss on the side of my head, his tense body relaxes. I really shouldn’t tease him like that.

“Which dates? You didn’t win any fights lately.”

He smirks. “The date of our first date.”

“Yeah?”

“Uh-huh. Gotta document the first time we ate pasta together.” He wiggles his eyebrows like a fool. He doesn’t mention that was also the day we professed our love for each other, or the first time we slept together. The day our relationship officially began. “I’m also adding December twenty nine.” He drops a sweet kiss on my jaw. “The day you came back to me. February thirteen; the day you agreed to marry me. And while we’re at it, I’d love it if you tell me our official wedding date, so I can get that done today, too.”

“You wanna set a date?” My heart trips and swells in my chest.

We’ve been engaged for almost four months, but we’ve yet to set a date. We’ve just been coasting in this new status; engaged. I didn’t bring up making a date because he didn’t bring it up, and I didn’t want to be the super keen weirdo, but I’d marry him today. In a heartbeat.

Bobby Kincaid is exactly who I’m supposed to spend the rest of my life with.

“I really do, baby.” He leans in and presses his forehead to mine. “I want to marry you. Yesterday. Right now. Say yes, and we can fly to Vegas today. It’s the weekend, Jack’s not in school, we have time. And if you wanna leave him here, Jimmy’s gotten really good at tossing pizza slices in his face. They hardly ever miss anymore.”

I love this man so much.

“No, not Vegas. Not today. I think we’d be on a lot of hit lists if we did.” True story. Nelly would kill us. Casey would kill me. Izzy would probably beat me up. “But I do want to get married, like, as soon as possible.” I mentally run through my calendar. “What about July fourth?”

His eyes light up with fun. “That’s soon. That’s a good day to get married, baby.” He nibbles on my lips and lets out a satisfied hum of pleasure. “Why July fourth?”

“Well, it’s a little under a month away. That’s enough time to get stuff organized and ordered, but not long enough for things to snowball into something huge and way out of proportion. Plus, the fourth is a Saturday this year, and a long weekend, so more time to party.”

“That’s a fucking deal, baby.” His eyes search mine. “We’re getting married? Next month?”

“Yes.” I let out a girly squeal and jump on the spot. “Oh my God, we’re getting married next month.”

He pulls me in roughly and kisses my brow. “Okay, I’m ready, Ian. Add that to my design, too. Let’s get this shit done. We have a wedding to plan.”

Ian barks out a laugh and shakes his head. “Congratulations, kids. Come on over, we’ll do you first, since yours will be quicker than hers.”

Releasing me, Bobby steps forward and pulls his shirt over his head. “Oh, wait.” He turns back, and before I can escape, he slaps my ass. Hard. “That’s for the ass tattoo comment. As promised.”
