Teagan slammed the door shut, unwilling to hear her sister’s bullshit any longer. Her sister obviously had unresolved issues with Kieran, which Teagan never knew about. Apparently, Teagan wasn’t the only one in the family keeping secrets.
“Please don’t take any of what she said personal, Dev.”
Devlin pulled her in for a bear hug. “Oh, I’m gonna talk to my brother and see what the hell that was all about. And then… Little Bird, we’ll go upstairs and celebrate.”
A smile broke out on her face at his mood shift. “Celebrate?”
“Yeah. Haven’t you heard the news?”
She giggled at his playful tone of voice. “No?” she said.
“You’re officially my first girlfriend.”
She laughed and added, “And your last, I hope.”
He leaned in and mumbled against her lips. “You’re fuckin’ right, you’re my last.”
“You guys make me sick to my stomach. I’m out of here,” Kieran grumbled as he passed them on his way out of the front door.
Devlin nibbled on her earlobe and said, “Okay. I guess talking to Kieran is no longer on the agenda. That leaves us to celebrating.”
She slapped his chest and said, “No, first we’re goin’ to the kitchen and spend some time with Nora.”
He laughed and shook his head. “You didn’t see her sneak out of here with Kieran?”
She bit her bottom lip. “Eh, no?”
“Come. Enough with the talkin’. I need to fuck my girlfriend.”
She smiled all the way to his bedroom as he held her in his arms. She didn’t care she was jumping headfirst into things once again. Never—ever had something felt so right before.
