“I don’t know what to say?” Sofia said softly.
“You don’t have to say anything, at least not to me. Mr. Jones has the information for you to read. The rest is all on you, sweetheart. I just opened the door. You have to decide if you want to walk through it.”
He really expected her to be beaming the moment she saw Jones sitting there. He was a very well-known director and potentially could be the break Sofia had longed for. But she didn’t look overjoyed as expected.
“What are you going to do while we talk?” Sofia asked.
“I’m going to go home, but I’m leaving the limo for you.” He leaned over and kissed her then added, “Break a leg.”
“Thank you, Dylan. This means a lot to me.” Sofia turned and walked over to Jones. He wished he could stay and watch, but this was her moment to shine. And he knew she would. All she needed was for someone to put her back on her path. He knew once she started, she was going to take off and obtain all she had dreamed of. And knowing she’s happy is all that matters.
Dylan never knew what love felt like, but he realized it is a selfless emotion. Her needs, wants, and desires came before his own.
It was odd how much he had changed since meeting her. But there were things that hadn’t. He was still business-driven. If she took this job, then it was a good thing he had his work, because he was going to need to fill his time with something.
Damn it. I’m going to miss her like hell when she’s gone.He knew Sofia was going to impress Jones. And the film wasn’t going to be shot anywhere near New York. Actually, it wasn’t even in the States. Going big screen, sweetheart. And I know you’ll rock it.
