As I moved inside of her, I kissed her tenderly. Soon, her moans returned, and her hips rose off the blanket to meet mine.

I increased my rhythm, entering her faster and harder. Her breaths came in short gasps, and I knew she was on the brink of another release. I wasn’t going to be able to hold back this time.

She cried out my name as her body rocked with release. She thrashed from side to side with the force of it, and I plunged deep into her, shuddering with my own explosive release.

I could barely catch my breath, but once her core relaxed, I pulled out of her gently and rolled to lie beside her. I pulled the blanket to cover her. She snuggled up against me but didn’t speak.

What could I say? Sorry. Didn’t know you were a virgin. If I did, I’d never have touched you. But I couldn’t say that. It would hurt her, make her feel as though this wasn’t something…beautiful. Even if it was a mistake.

I had realized that she wasn’t as experienced as the women I normally date. Her kisses were sweet, and willing, and I mistook them as shy, not innocent. And I was wrong.

I couldn’t let the silence go on any longer. Brushing the hair away from her eyes, I asked, softly, “Kyleigh, why didn’t you tell me you were a virgin?”

“I…didn’t think we were going to have sex tonight. It just…kind of happened,” she said.

Is she trying to tell me she didn’t want it?I’d never taken advantage of a woman, and I sure as hell didn’t want to break that streak. Kyleigh was beautiful and sexy, but – as I was discovering - a little naïve. Fuck. I couldn’t put any blame on her. This was all my fault.

“I’m sorry. Kyleigh, I don’t want you to think that I asked you here just for sex,” I said. Of course, I had been hoping it would lead to it but that was before I knew you were innocent. “I…I hope I didn’t hurt you too much.”

I didn’t know what else to say. Sorry wasn’t a strong enough word, and it’s not like I could offer to give her virginity back. So many thoughts and feelings were running through my mind. Like how the hell I missed the fact that she was a virgin. But even now, looking down at her, I could barely believe it myself. How was someone so beautiful and twenty-five, still a virgin?

She looked up into my eyes and said, “You didn’t hurt me - well, not much. And besides, I was more worried that you’d open up your wound.” She ran her fingers over my side gently. “At least the bandage stayed on.”

I chuckled. “You made me forget all about it.”

“I know the feeling,” she said, pulling me down for a kiss.

This hadn’t been my plan, but maybe it was hers.

“Liam, I could stay here on the beach with you all night, but it’s getting late and I need to get home,” she said.

“I know. Let’s get dressed and I’ll follow you home,” I said.

“No. You can’t,” she blurted.

I cocked a brow, shocked by her reply. “Why?”

“Liam, you don’t understand Tabiqian ways. I…my…my parents don’t know that I’m out with you. They wouldn’t approve.”

“You need your parents’ permission on who you date?” That shouldn’t surprise me from how reserved the women were here.

“Not really permission, but normally you’d have met my parents first. Had dinner at our home. Then asked my father if you could take me out. I know, it’s not like where you’re from. I hate it too. But it is how most people still do it here. Not everyone, but my parents do.”

I could count on one hand how many parents I’d met of women I’d dated and those were back in high school. But I wasn’t in Ireland and if that was what I needed to do in order to spend more time with Kyleigh, I would.

“Maybe you can invite me to dinner?” I suggested.

She shook her head. “I don’t think that is a good idea.”

“Are you saying you don’t want to see me anymore?” I asked. It’s not like I’d never had a one-and-done, but I wanted to see her again, and not just through a window at the hospital.

“I want to see you, but maybe we can continue the way we are.”

“You mean, in secret?” I asked. She nodded. It could add a level of excitement, but I wasn’t sure if this was a good thing for Kyleigh. “Are you sure this is what you want? Because I’m okay with meeting your family.” And taking the heat from my brother for disobeying his orders.

She nodded. “Liam, I want to enjoy this time I have with you, but you’re only here visiting. I know you’re supposed to go back to Ireland after the wedding. My parents are not going to accept you especially, knowing that you’re leaving soon.”

That made a lot of sense. “And how about you? How do you feel about my going?”
