“It…tickles my nose,” she replied, venturing another sip. Her face contorted again and I laughed as she handed the glass back to me. “I’m sorry. I don’t like it.”

“It’s okay. I’m not a fan of champagne, either. I’d rather have a dark stout.”

“What is that?” she asked.

“Beer. You really aren’t a drinker, are you?”

“No. This is the first time I ever tried it,” she admitted. “It’s not that people don’t drink here. I’m sure you see a lot of it at New Hope Resort. But for the most part, alcohol is not a part of our culture.”

“That explains the lack of bars on the island.”

“There used to be drinking establishments many years ago. But then…things changed. I’m not sure they will ever be the same again,” she said.

I could see sadness in her eyes, and I regretted mentioning bars. I had no idea what the correlation was between the two, but it seemed to upset her. “We don’t have to drink. I brought plenty of other things.” I reached into the basket and pulled out a variety of small sandwiches and desserts. I had asked the resort to pack it for me. It’s not what I would’ve chosen, but as long as there was something there for Kyleigh, I didn’t care.

“Is that…chocolate cake?” she asked, biting her bottom lip.

“It appears so. Would you like some?”

“Yes, please!”

I pulled it out and handed her a fork. As soon as the cake crossed her lips, she moaned in pleasure.

“Oh, that is so much better than that alcohol.”

I wasn’t a sweet eater, but just watching the expression on her face as she licked every morsel off the fork was enough to make me wish I was a piece of chocolate cake.

Kyleigh stuck her fork into another piece of cake but instead of bringing it to her mouth, she brought it to mine. “I know this is what you want.”

“Cake?” I asked.

“What else would you want when you can have this?” she asked, holding the fork up to me.

Don’t do it. You know you shouldn’t.I looked into those lovely eyes, then to the little bit of chocolate frosting that rested on her lips, and I knew exactly what I wanted.

“I do want chocolate. But screw the cake.” Leaning forward, I kissed her.

Instantly I felt her stiffen at the contact, but she didn’t pull away. Her eyes closed and her lips softened as she let me explore them. I traced her lips with my tongue, urging her to open for me. She held back at first, as though this was her first kiss. Coaxing her again, I nipped her bottom lip, and she moaned, and opened to me.

I entered her mouth, and she tasted of sweet chocolate. Our tongues danced slowly until she’d melted into my arms, and we fell back onto the blanket. Lying side by side, I pulled her close. I could see the amber sunset reflected in her sparkling eyes.

“What are you thinking?” she asked.

That I want to have sex with you so badly it hurts.

“How beautiful you are.”

“You really think I’m…pretty?” she said.

I ran my hand up her thigh and rested it on her hip. “No. I said beautiful, and I mean it.” I kissed her again, this time deeper. She didn’t resist opening for me.

I closed my eyes, telling myself that I would stop after just one more taste. But the longer I held her, the more I wanted her.

Don’t start what you can’t finish.

Whatever I told myself wasn’t working. My cock ached and the grind of her hips against mine wasn’t helping.

She moaned in my mouth, “Liam.”
