“I want you,” she whispered.
I didn’t know if we were still talking about the job, but before I could find out, Ziva came out to find us.
“Sorry to disturb you two, but Logan said there’s an emergency at the hospital. Someone was brought in with a major heart attack. He’s on the phone with the hospital now but he wanted to know if you would accompany him to help the patient.”
“Of course.” I turned to Reesa and said, “Maybe we can finish this tomorrow?”
“I did promise you an amazing breakfast. Why don’t you come by my place around eight? That will give us time to talk and eat before I go to the office.”
I leaned over and kissed her. This time, my lips lingered a little longer than the last time.
“I’ll see you at eight.” I got up and left Reesa and Ziva out on the porch.
Leaving her tonight was difficult. I wanted to be with her at all times. But protecting Reesa was bigger than I could do alone, and I needed to trust Bennett’s team.
