I lean against the closed door and squeeze my eyes shut.
Holy shit! Weston kissed me twice!
I put my phone on silent and then text Kinsley.
Me:Weston kissed me!!!
Kinsley:What?!
Me:Twice
Kinsley:You're serious?
Me:Yes, and he's taking me on a date tonight!
Kinsley:You better not be joking, or I’ll kill you!!
Me:I swear it! You can't tell ANYONE. My brother needs to hear this from me.
Kinsley: I won't say a word because I agree he should hear it from you.
Me:AHHH! I have to get ready for our DATE!
Kinsley:I want all the details!
Me: Promise!
I set my phone down and take a deep breath. I hadn't planned to go on any dates on this trip. The only two nice dresses I have are this one and a sexier outfit for the bachelorette party.
I can spice the dress up by doing my hair and makeup, so I get to work.
Less than twenty minutes later, I'm very happy with how I look. My hair is done up in a loose twist on the side of my head, letting the free hair fall over my shoulder. I check that my phone is still silent because I don't want anything to mess up this date.
This date is the one that I have been dreaming of since I was at least in the sixth grade.
I step out of the bathroom, and he's in dress pants and a button-down shirt, an outfit I'm sure he planned for the rehearsal dinner as well.
"Wow. You look stunning," he says as his eyes rake down my body and the hungry look in his eyes is a turn on.
"You cleaned up really good," I say without thinking as I run my eyes over his strong body.
He smiles before looking down at his feet and shoving his hands into his pockets.
He's nervous, and I can't remember the last time I saw him like this.
"I found a place on Route 66 I think you’ll like," he says, holding out his hand for me.
When I take his hand, his smile matches mine. My hand fits perfectly in his as he leads me out to the car. He is a perfect gentleman and opens my door for me and everything.
On the way to the restaurant, we talk about what’s on tomorrow’s agenda for our drive. But when he pulls into Jack's Bar-B-Q, I think I fall for him even more, if that's possible.
"This place was on my list of want to eat at places!" I exclaim.
"I remember you talking about it, and when I saw it, I knew this is where we had to eat."
"It's perfect."
He gets out of the car and comes around to open my door, taking my hand in his as we enter. We get our food and take a seat. While we’re a bit overdressed for this place, I don't care because it's perfect.
