Souls.

“Promise me.” I clenched my teeth, trying to keep my orgasm at bay. “Promise.”

“Keep doing that, and I’ll do whatever you want.”

My laughter quickly turned into a growl when her heels dug into my ass, pulling me against her so tight I saw stars.

“Promise me eternity, kitten.”

Her back arched off the bed, and I took full advantage, jerking her against me as my hips moved wildly, in perfect sync with her lush body.

I took my pleasure and gave into hers.

“Forever and always.” She bit down on her lower lip then squeezed her eyes shut like it was too much, only to open them and say in a hoarse voice, “It’s you and me, no matter what.”

My hips rolled one last time before both of us lost complete control.

I lost track of how many times I made love to her that night.

I wasn’t done.

Nowhere near finished or fulfilled.

I was only getting started.

I planned to keep her in this bed for the rest of the week, making up for lost time. I wanted that more than anything. This time we’d do it right. I kissed her neck, my teeth grazing her soft skin like I wanted to mark her on the outside as much as I’d done on the inside.

Hours later, I kissed her belly then put my ear to her stomach. “I don’t hear him.”

“Him?”

“Yes. I don’t hear our son.”

“How do you know it’s a boy?”

“I know these things.” Looking down at her stomach, I whispered, “I can’t wait until I’m holding you in my arms.”

My eyes locked with hers, filled with fresh tears. “You’re going to make me cry.”

I narrowed my eyes at her.

An emotion I was unfamiliar with crept into my mind.

“What is it?”

“I didn’t think I could be this happy. How did I get so lucky?”

She smiled.

Big.

Bright.

Beaming.

“We both got lucky. I can’t wait to have a family with you.”

“What names do you like?”
