I gave her a thankful smile. When she had gotten home last night, I talked to her some more about Oliver and how he made me feel, and she told me about her run in with Jameson. She was excited and blown away that the guy she’d crushed on for years who was way out of her league was actually interested in her.
“Awesome.”
Everyone pitched in to clean up after breakfast, and I made my escape to my bedroom before I took my phone back out.
Daddy: Casual but dressy? It’s not cocktail attire, not business attire either, but honestly if you wanted to come in jeans and a hoodie I’d be fine with that. Whatever makes you comfortable. I don’t care about anyone but you being there.
Me: Ok. I’ll bring a few options tonight and you can tell me what you think would be best.
Daddy: You’re gonna put on a runway show for Daddy? I’m down.
I laughed and hesitated before hitting send on my response to him.
Me: By the time it’s over, you’ll be UP. ;)
“God, you are so sappy and in love it’s sickening.” Gabby teased when she came into the room.
“I’m crazy about him.” I admitted grabbing some jeans from the closet.
“I can tell. You haven’t stopped talking about him since you met him.”
“Well, the man did save my life.”
“And popped your cherry.” She volunteered.
I grabbed Sassy, my stuffed dragon, off the bed and threw it at her. Gabby laughed and caught the stuffed animal tossing it back on the bed. “What? It’s true.”
“Shut up. Let’s go shopping.”
Our first stop was to the spa. We got manis and pedis, and while we were sitting in the big massaging chairs relaxing and talking, I convinced her we should get a full wax as well. I’ve shaved down there for a long time, but i’d heard girls say it was better to just wax it off and maintain. It took some convincing, but Gabby decided to take the plunge and go full Brazilian with me.
“I’m going to kill you Luna.” Those were the first words out of her mouth when she came out of the room, waddling like a penguin.
“Just think, you’ll be perfectly smoothe for your big date tonight with Jameson.” I volunteered with a smile. The glare she sent me could have melted the polar ice caps, but the promise of cookies from our favorite bakery seemed to thaw her a bit.
We ate lunch and then spent the day trying on clothes. I found a few dresses that I thought might work for a press conference and team meet and greet. Of course with new dresses I needed new shoes. Whatever I didn’t wear to the event on Monday, I’d be bringing back to the stores on Tuesday because I dropped a small fortune on the different outfits.
“Hey, turn in there. I need to go to the toy store.” Gabby said looking up from her phone.
“What do we need at the toy store?”
“Jameson’s nephew is having a birthday party tomorrow. He forgot to get a gift, so I’m gonna grab stuff since we are already out and shopping.”
“That’s sweet. I bet he’ll thank you later.”
She rolled her eyes, “You’re one to talk, daddy’s girl,”
We went a bit overboard shopping for his nephew, but it was fun. If I ended up pregnant, Gabby was sure to be an aunt that would spoil my kid rotten. Hell, all my sisters would, just as I would do the same for any of them.
When we passed by the infant area, I saw a small, pink, onesie that said,“Daddy’s Little Sunshine”.I smiled, and unconsciously touched my belly, thinking of Oliver being a real daddy. He’d be a good one—firm but loving.
“One more stop before we’re done.” Gabby interrupted my thoughts bringing her basket full of Spiderman paraphernalia over to me.
“Another stop for a birthday gift? Seriously, how much are you buying this kid?”
“Not for him, Dork. We need to go to the lingerie store. You need something that will get you a spanking from that Daddy of yours, and I want something sexy for my date tonight. Hopefully, something he will take off with his teeth.” She winked at me, and I rolled my eyes.
“I’ve missed you, Sis.” I said smiling at her. This was the best day I’ve had in a long time. I needed it.
