“Shit.” I groaned, “Did I say that out loud?”

He took a carton of General Tso’s Chicken and leaned against the counter next to my hip, “You did, and I have to say I like the way you think. Fuel before fun, though.” He gave me an exaggerated wink and I couldn’t help but smile. I loved the way he made me feel.

By the time we finished eating, I learned more about the man beside me. We talked about movies and music. He talked about his family, and I told him about my sisters and mom. It was nice and normal just sitting in the kitchen swapping food and stories.

“I’ve got one and if you answer wrong, well I may just have to end our relationship before it starts.” I tried to keep a straight face.

He pushed off the counter and started packing up the leftovers and loading them into the sacks. “Hit me with it.”

“Does pineapple belong on pizza?”

A grin spread across his face at my silly meaningless question and I decided then and there I was all in for this. If ever there was a guy to risk losing my heart and head over, it was Oliver Blake.

“That’s a tough question, but I gotta go with my gut and say,” he paused for dramatic effect, shutting the fridge and turning back towards me, “Yes.”

“Ew. No.” I made a face of playful disgust at him and he covered his chest with his hand.

“Fuck. I got it wrong. My gut’s never led me wrong before.”

“I guess that means it’s time for me to go. “ I shrugged and pushed myself off the counter, “You answered wrong, Sir.”

He quickly moved in front of me, caging me in against the counter in front of him, “Damn, I guess I’ve got to convince you to stay another way.” He lowered his head kissed me—gentle pecks at first that grew more firm with each peck until his lips sealed over mine and his tongue thrust into the cavern of my mouth.

“You really do.” I whispered when he pulled away from my lips and placed kisses down the column of my throat. I rolled my head to the side, giving him better access to my throat. Shivers ran down my spine when he nipped at my neck. I sighed and my eyes slid shut as I enjoyed the feel of him against me. His body was hard and warm—his lips soft and seeking.

“Come with me,” he said taking my hand and leading me into the living room. “We’re going to talk before we begin.”

“Ok.” I said hesitantly.

He sat down on the couch and pulled me into his lap, his hand moved up and down my thigh it’s warmth had me squirming for pressure between my legs.

“Do you know why you’re getting punished, Little Sprite?”

I nodded, “Because I was late.”

“It’s more than that Luna. Last night, you snuck out of here without telling me. If you had been in an accident or had a flat tire, bad things could have happened. Then, you were late. What time did I tell you to be here?”

“Every night at six when I got off of work.” I swallowed hard, and I felt bad for making him worry not once but twice.

“You know what’s worse?” He asked firmly, and I shook my head not wanting to answer. “You lied when we were on the phone, Luna. Did you know you were supposed to be here?”

I bit my lip and ducked my head, but he wouldn’t let me escape it. Oliver put is finger under my chin and forced me to meet his disappointed gaze. He looked just like a Daddy punishing his Little Girl, and he was.

“Yes.”

“Why were you late when you knew you were supposed to be here?”

I looked down at his chin thinking I could speak easier if I wasn’t looking him in the eyes.

“I was afraid.”

“Of me?”

I shook my head emphatically, “No, of this. I don’t have any experience with guys and I’m diving into a relationship that is unconventional and quite frankly scares me as much as it excites me.

“Plus, I wasn’t sure if you would wake up regretting what we’d done or if you would even want to see me again.”
