Chapter Thirty-six

Watching a video on Sam’s iPad, nestled in the big chair in the living room, Stasia decided to get up and brew herself a cup of hot chocolate. That’s when she’d seen movement in the bushes in the front of the house.

Not too concerned, knowing that some of the neighbors often sat out at night and took their dogs for walks, she paused by the open curtains and watched from her hidden place. When the first man came in sight, a streak of terror shot through her body and she dropped to the floor.

Lying there quivering, tears dripping, her throat so tight that even if she wished to scream, nothing could be forced through the blockage, she tried to think. Shaking so hard, she peed out just a little of her fear before she clenched her muscles and felt the shame. Looking everywhere around her made her thoughts fly to Sophia.

How would she act?

She wouldn’t beacting likebigbaby!

And what was ither savior hadsaidshe shoulddo if something like this happened?

Think!

Quick!

One, one, four, seven. It flooded back, and that’s when she knew next move. Hide in the closet with the combination lock on door, the one in Yaya’s bedroom. Call Sophia and Sam. They would come. Her friends would save her. She mustn’t let monsters find her first.

She couldn’t go back to bad place. She’d die if freaks rent out her body again like God gave them right to make her toy to sell. And let sickos play withher, not care how they hurt, how shefeelwhile they have… fun. How it made her die little bit each time they use her and leave her screaming inside with her shame.

She’d start to heal – her spirit and body. Sophia and Sam give her back her will to live. Made her want father and family. They’d promise to keep her safe and take her home. She’d believe them. The noise of the door opening came like blow from fist. She ran. They can’t help her if they don’t know her danger.

Crawling, slithering to Yaya’s room, she locked herself in closet.Grabbing the phone Sophia once pointed to, she made her call. Shaking, she waited, cried, prayed for help before the mean bastards decide to search this bedroom.
