I pushed him away for the third time. “We’re sleepin’ on the bus tonight. You really want to have this conversation on the bus?”

“Shit.” He pressed the heel of his hand to his forehead. “I’m quitting the band.”

A giggle bubbled out of me. “And draggin’ me by my hair back to your cave? No. You’ll wait. You’ll survive. We’ll have a nice talk at our next hotel. And no weirdness in front of Mo and Murray.”

He drew an X over his heart. “Would I ever make it weird?”

I smiled at the fluttering he kept causing in my chest. “Bye, Santi.”

He called my name as I started to walk away, and I turned back, eyebrow raised. “Yes?”

“Never have I ever...wanted to make two people disappear from the planet as much as I do now.”

I snorted, laughed, felt light and floaty. “No sip.”
