Myeyelashesflutteropen. The early daylight peeking through the curtains.
“You’re awake,” Cole says sleepily.
Turning over so that I was on my back and he on his side, he looks down at me.
His hair is a frenzied mess and I wanted nothing more than to run my fingers through those dark locks.
“Have you been up for a while?”
“Not long,” he replies leisurely.
My chest swells as a lazy grin crosses his face. It was so… boyish? So unlike him. If I thought Cole was attractive before it didn’t compare to waking up next to him.
That expression turns carnal. Those fingers that were running lazy circles along my shoulder moving to my bare chest. After last night I hadn’t bothered putting clothes back on and forgotten I’m naked.
I should feel shy, but I never was around Cole.
My nipples pebble under his touch. Goose bumps break out across my skin.
“Do you like that?” he muses, already knowing I did.
My body warming, wanting him again. I shift and his hand freezes when I flinch. His brows dipping together in concern.
“I didn’t hurt you too much, did I?”
Pulling him down, I give him a kiss telling him exactly how I felt about last night. I was sore between my legs but in the best way possible.
I couldn’t get enough of Cole and after yesterday I knew he felt the same. Having sex a few more times before exhaustion set in and I crashed.
He groans when I pull away, nipping at his bottom lip playfully. Earning me another rumble deep from his throat.
His eyes lower then, down casting. “I thought we might be able to squeeze in another quick one before I have to head downstairs, but we can wait until you’re not as sore.”
Whimpering my protest, his expression grows lustful and I want him again. This man was intoxicating.
He glances at the time on his phone and his shoulders drop. “I want nothing more than to stay in this bed with you, but I have to go, princess,” he complains.
Not long after, he does leave, and the room feels empty without him. I decide to shower and when I reemerge, breakfast is waiting for me on the edge of the bed.
The corners of my mouth lift. Cole must have ordered me room service.
I eat in double time wanting to explore a little while he was away. Our room turned out to be some sort of modern-day villa. He had mentioned that a lot of the guests book them out for the event and now I understood why.
The lines were sharp, decoration minimal. Light walls and natural wood made the space feel larger than it was.
Our last kiss is breathy and drawn out before he left. Telling me he’d always made sure the staff the next morning disposed of the flowers properly. His mother’s flowers.
My chest tightened double over after he said that. So, I left him alone. Not wanting to impose.
He was letting me in, trusting me. Letting me see the softer side of him, I knew he didn’t let a lot of people see and so I felt privileged. Important.
Iceman was giving me small parts of himself, one piece at a time.
Two weeks had passed since then and to say I was the happiest I could have remembered was the understatement of the century.
I felt like luck was on my side for once. Everything running smoothly.
