“I want you to kiss me.”
I sit up and grasp her chin, pulling her toward me to claim her lips. It’s a hungry kind of kiss, passionate and breathless. I wrap my arms around her and carefully roll her onto her side. I settle in behind her, Eden’s back pressed to my chest as I hook a hand around her thigh, lifting her leg up so I can thrust into her freely.
I love the sounds she makes, so needy and seductive. She kisses me like it’s the only thing she knows how to do, her fingers raking through my hair as I suck hard marks against the crook of her neck. She’s all mine now, and although I intend to keep her out of the public eye, these little love bites are my way of telling the worldexactly who she belongs to.
“I missed you,” she whines. “I missed you so damn much.”
“I missed you too, angel.”
“Showme.”
I take my sweet time, burying myself deep inside her sweet pussy. No matter what I do, I can’t get enough. I ignore the tight coil of heat in the pit of my core and focus on her, allowing my hand to roam from her breasts to her waist to her belly.
“That’s my baby inside you,” I say, marveling. It’s a special kind of high knowing that she’s pregnant, knowing we created a life together. “Still can’t believe it,” I moan against her ear. “You’re so fucking amazing, Eden. You’re going to be such a good mama to my baby.”
“H-Hunter, please… I don’t think I can hold on anymore.”
“That’s it, sweetheart. That’s it. Fuck, I’m gonna—”
We shatter together, ecstasy flooding my veins as heat radiates off our skin. I’m blissed out of my mind, forever grateful for the woman in my arms. I hold Eden as tight as I dare, careful not to hurt her or the precious cargo she bears.
“A little boy,” she muses to herself. “Is it too early to start thinking about names?”
I cover her with the sheets. “It’s never too early to start thinking about baby names, but…”
Eden peeks up at me through her long lashes. “What is it?”
“I meant what I said before. About the personal bodyguard.”
“That’s overkill.”
“You said yourself that the police never found the person responsible for setting fire to the lake house. They could still be out there, and if they are, I’m not taking any chances.”
She chews on the inside of her cheek, appearing to mull things over. “What about you andyourstalker? Have the police managed to find them yet?”
“No.”
“Then you need a personal bodyguard, too. I’m frankly surprised a man of influence like you doesn’t already have one.”
“Man of influence,” I say with a snort. “You really know how to inflate my ego.”
“I’m being serious, Hunter. I want you just as safe as you want me.”
I nod. We’re not exactly dealing with every day, normal people problems. Craziness seems to follow us wherever we go by the very nature of what we do. “If it’ll make you happy,” I say, “then that’s what we’ll do.”
Eden’s shoulders relax. “Thank you.”
“In the meantime, I’ll have your things moved here. I’m more than happy to cover your half of the rent until the end of your lease to make things easier on Taylor, but I really must insist that you stay here.”
“Afraid the paparazzi will get me?”
“Yes. That, and I don’t want to miss another second of your pregnancy.”
She nods. “That’s fair,” she murmurs, taking my hand to place on her belly.
“And one more thing,” I say.
“Yes?”
