More popcorn comes my way. Not from Ace. From Zac. He’s sitting at the next table over, facing me.

The next piece lands down my shirt, in my cleavage.

“Score!” Gabe says as he sits next to Ace.

Great. All three of them. Just what I need. So much for a quiet, peaceful lunch.

“Where’s your leader?” I ask. “I’m surprised you all can sit from bending over and taking whatever he gives you.”

“What did you say?” Zac asks, standing.

I’m sure he couldn’t have heard much of any of what I said. The café is too loud for that.

I try to eat my sandwich and ignore them, but I can’t help watching Zac come over out of the corner of my eye. He looks like he’s on the warpath, but Gabe has that wickedly charming smile on his face again.

“I think you should repeat yourself. Zac here didn’t hear you,” Gabe says.

“Do you really want me to say it again?” I ask sweetly.

“Rob isn’t our leader,” Ace hisses.

“Who is then? Because you all fooled me. Bullying a girl on his say so. You don’t even know me, and frankly, I don’t want to get to know any of you. I’ve learned enough about you already.”

“You said I’m charming,” Gabe says.

“Even assholes can be charming at times. Who knew?”

“If you were a man,” Ace starts.

“You would what? Fight me? Go ahead. I’m not afraid of you.”

Zac rolls his eyes. “Ace, man, you know you can’t fight. You would get kicked off the team.”

“Does Ace even have it in him to be a team player?” I ask.

“How about you stop talking?” Ace snaps.

“Too scared to fight a girl. Got it. But tripping her, now that’s fair game.”

Zac smirks. “You look a bit heated, aren’t you, Katie? Need to cool down some?”

He’s holding a cup. I only just notice that now, and I refuse to jerk away, anticipating him throwing whatever liquid inside at me, but he doesn’t. He reaches inside and removes a single ice cube that he then licks and sucks on.

Fuck. That’s kinda hot, but he’s such an ass. They all are, and I can’t forget that. Their looks mean nothing. On their inside, they’re as ugly as sin.

Before I can react, Zac takes that ice cube, which isn’t all that small yet despite melting some, and he places it on my chest above my shirt. He rubs it around, and he’s right. I am heated, and the ice cube is dripping all over me, and that’s not all that’s dripping.

I really need to make some time for myself so that I don’t fawn over every guy in the world.

He’s doing this to get to me, but I refuse to be riled up. I smile up at him, although it might be more of a smirk, and I just simply say, “Thank you.”

Zac rolls his eyes and drops the ice cube down my shirt, but I pretend not to be fazed by it. Honestly? It’s not all that bad. The café is hot, probably from all of the bodies packed inside, and sure, my shirt is wet now, but it’ll dry within minutes once I head outside.

“I feel much cooler now,” I inform them.

Ace’s hand covers the lower half of his face so I can’t quite read his expression, but his dark eyes aren’t as stormy as. They’ve been. As for Gabe, he’s staring at me with a bit of appreciation, his gaze shifting from my face to my wet chest and my hard nipples. Always hard, remember? And Zac, last but not least, reaches for my bag of chips.

“Go ahead,” I say sweetly. “I’m getting full.”
