“That’s because we are both very wise,” she says, sticking her tongue out and pulling a face. I can’t help but laugh. “Seriously though, you seem great together. Watching you earlier, it’s like you’ve known each other forever.”

“It feels so right,” I admit, and I’m mortified to feel a single tear slip down my cheek. I never cry. Sav notices and reaches her arm around me.

“Youreallylike him, don’t you?” I nod. “Have you talked to him?”

I shake my head. “And say what? I’ve only known him a couple of days. All these feelings are crazy. Maybe we should just stay friends and forget the benefits.”

“Can you just be his friend, though? How would you feel if you saw him with someone else?”

“Devastated,” I admit.

“Then there’s your answer. You need to talk to him.” She sits up and takes a mouthful of her drink. “Tell me about the benefits!”

“What?” I ask on a laugh.

“The sex! Tell me about the sex! I wantallthe details.”

“Wait!” a voice shouts from inside, and we both look toward the house to see Quinn grabbing a soda from the refrigerator. “It seems I’ve arrived just in time for the juicy part,” she says as she makes her way toward us, soda and pizza in her hands. I laugh as she places the pizza box on the small table and sits next to me. “Carry on,” she says, waving her hand.

“I’m not going into details. All I’m going to say is wow!” I flip open the pizza box and pick up a slice.

“What? That’s it?” Savannah cries. “We need more than that! You had grass in your hair earlier, spill.”

“We had sex down by the river, that’s all I’m going to say. He’s your cousin, Savannah. Surely you don’t want all the details?”

“He’s not my cousin,” Quinn exclaims. “Tell me!”

I laugh and shake my head. “It’s the best I’ve ever had, okay? Can we change the subject now!”

“Get a few more cocktails inside her. She’ll tell us more then,” Savannah says, plucking my almost empty glass from the table and wriggling her eyebrows at me. “I’ll get you another one.”

“I’ll never be that drunk,” I call after her as she heads inside.

“We’ll see,” she shouts over her shoulder.

“She’s not going to give up, is she?” I ask Quinn, and she laughs.

“Nope. Afraid not.”

I groan and drop my head back on the sofa. “Are you picking the guys up later?” I ask, hoping to change the subject before Savannah comes back.

“Yeah, they all have work tomorrow. All except Jack, so it won’t be a late night.”

I nod. “How are the wedding plans coming along?” Brody had proposed to Quinn a couple of months ago, and they’re planning a fall wedding.

“Really good. I have my dress, as you know, and the flowers and cake are ordered. It’s all coming together.” After Brody proposed, Quinn had asked me to be one of her bridesmaids, along with Savannah, Libby, and Hope. We’d all gone shopping in Austin a few weeks ago, and she’d chosen the most beautiful wedding dress. We’re waiting on getting our bridesmaid dresses until after Lib has the baby. That just means another girly shopping trip, and I can’t wait. I’ve gotten close to Savannah, Libby, and Quinn during my time at the ranch. They’ve made me feel like part of the family, and I love them all.

“I’m excited for you, Quinn. I’ve seen some of the weddings you’ve organized. It’s going to be beautiful.”

“Thanks, Aria.”

“How is the new business going? I was telling Jack about it earlier—”

“Telling Jack what?” Savannah interrupts as she hands me another cocktail. “And was it before or after the hot sex in the rain?”

I roll my eyes. “We’ve moved on from that conversation, Sav. Sorry.” I chuckle as I take a mouthful of cocktail. Coughing, I put my hand over my mouth. “Fuck! Why is this one so much stronger than the last?”

“Ireallywant the details.”
