Epilogue

Two Years Later

Leah’s phone vibrated from under her pillow again. She groaned, knowing she should get up. Dylan needed to be fed. She and Knox had barely gotten any sleep last night because Dylan kept them up all night.

She loved her man and her baby boy to pieces but sometimes, she wanted a couple more minutes of sleep. Leah listened intently. No brawling baby.

Leah opened her eyes and found the space next to her on the bed empty. Had Knox gone off to work already? Usually, he kissed her goodbye before leaving. Maybe she was more tired than she realized. Leah padded out of the bedroom and entered Dylan’s room. The cot was empty.

She heard Knox’s chuckle from somewhere in the apartment. Smiling to herself, she followed the source of the sound. Leah didn’t announce her presence right away. She remained where she was, watching Knox cradling Dylan in his arms. The tender look Knox wore completely melted her.

When they were out in public, Knox always looked like his same cold and indifferent self, but fatherhood had changed him. Knox might be called away on business most of the time, but he always made time for them.

Leah stopped hiding and joined her man and baby in the living room.

He looked up when she entered his line of sight. Leah kissed Dylan’s chubby cheek, then placed another on Knox’s mouth. Dylan was holding on to one of Knox’s fingers tightly and his green eyes were wide open. She wanted to preserve the beautiful image forever.

“Where are you going, kitten?” Knox asked.

“I need to take a picture. Don’t move.” She grabbed her phone from the bedroom and took a shot of Knox and Dylan.

Their cutie pie still held tightly on to his daddy’s fingers, but his eyes started to droop. She was always silently in awe of Knox for being able to get Dylan to sleep. She always had a hard time getting Dylan to take a nap.

When it came to protecting his family, Knox didn’t hold anything back. The Bratva once came for Leah when she was being driven to her classes. Thankfully, Knox had become more overbearing and more protective when he learned she was pregnant with Dylan. Knox’s men got her out just fine. She didn’t have a scratch on her.

Knox unleashed his fury with a vengeance. He didn’t tell Leah what exactly he did, but Leah found out on the news three days later that the heads of the Bratva were assassinated.

“Aren’t you late for work? You can hand Dylan over to me,” she said, holding her arms up.

Knox shook his head. “Not today. I’m taking a day off.”

Knox followed her to the kitchen while Leah made them coffee. She poured them both coffees. That done, she took a sip of hers. Leah let out a contented sigh—good coffee and being around her two most favorite people in the world, her life couldn’t be any more perfect.

She mulled over Knox’s words. Leah did notice he wasn’t wearing a suit. She eyed her man up and down. Knox looked damn sexy in anything, even in a pair of jeans and a plain white shirt.

“For real? According to Patrick, you’ve never ever taken a single day off in your entire life,” Leah remarked.

“Patrick said everyone can manage a single day without me,” Knox said. “He also said I’ve been working too hard.”

“I completely agree with him. Just the other day, he mentioned you fell asleep during an important meeting.”

Knox frowned. “Patrick and you have gotten really close.”

“We only care about you and besides, he’s funny.” Leah ignored Knox’s glower and continued, “I think he’s lonely. I was thinking that maybe we should set him up with someone.”

“Patrick will be fine,” Knox said with a growl.

“Dylan’s asleep. I’ll put him back in his cot,” Knox said.

They had baby monitors in every corner of the apartment so they’d know whether Dylan needed anything. Knox disappeared inside Dylan’s room. Leah was nursing her second cup of coffee by the time he returned. Knox molded himself behind her and enveloped her into a hug.

“So, what are your plans for today?” Knox asked. He pressed a kiss against the side of her neck. Just the contact of his body against hers made Leah shiver in anticipation. “I have ideas.”

Dylan was fast asleep and they both went to bed every night, too tired to do anything else but sleep. Leah turned in his arms and rose on tiptoe to give him a kiss. The naked hunger in Knox’s eyes never failed to make her nipples hard and her pussy wet.

“Fuck me, baby,” she whispered after the kiss.

Knox rewarded her with a heart-stopping grin and dragged her to their bedroom.
