“JekyllandHyde”—FiveFingerDeathPunch

Chains had done an amazing job on my short-notice request. His artistic abilities amazed me. After he finished my tattoo, he reached for his supplies to cover it like he did Soleil’s. Then he shook his head and laughed. “Forgot you won’t need that.”

“You’re right. I won’t,” I replied with a smirk. When I looked down, I could already see the raw skin healing where the needles had deposited the color. Initially, I couldn’t get any tattoos because they all disappeared when my skin healed, leaving a massive smear of color on my sheets when I woke up the next day. Then Chains did some research with the help of Madame Laveaux, and he found the insanely expensive ink that he reserved for me. I didn’t know what was different about it, and I didn’t want to know.

After a sharp knock on the door, Voodoo stuck his head in. “You about done?”

We all glanced his way.

“Just finished up,” Chains replied.

“Good. Facet has info.”

Chains and I looked at each other, then he made quick work of cleaning up. Soleil and I helped.

“I’ll see you in a bit,” I told her before I tipped up her chin to softly kiss her plush lips.

“I’m going to see if Jasmine needs any help. Thanks again, Chains.” With a huge grin, she left to find Jaz.

Chains and I went down the hall to the chapel and found everyone waiting. We glanced at each other in consternation.

Fuck.

We were the last ones in. Except Venom knew exactly what we were thinking. “Don’t worry. You didn’t have much notice, so the shitters will be fine until next time.”

There was a rule in the Ankeny chapter. Last one in to church had to clean the shitters after the weekend. It sucked and no one liked to do it, so the “last to church” bylaw had been added.

Relieved, we took our seats.

“How’s Billy?” Ghost asked as Facet was pulling up something on his laptop.

“Good as new,” Angel announced with a grin.

“Excellent.” Ghost appeared relieved as were we all. Then Facet spoke up.

“I was able to find some very reliable information through my sources, as well as Phoenix’s ol’ lady, and Calix. Matter of fact, he’s on his way back from town as we speak. I told him to join us if he gets back before we’re done in here.” Facet sat there typing as we impatiently waited. He often got lost in his head and his computers.

“And?” Venom prompted.

“Oh! Sorry.” He looked chagrined as he put his hands in his lap. Then he went over all the details. Questions and answers volleyed back and forth, then once everything was ironed out, we solemnly stood up. It seemed like it had taken forever.

“If you don’t want to do this, we don’t have to,” Hawk murmured as he stopped me with a hand on my shoulder.

I stared him square in the eye. “I promise you, I have no issues with this.”

He gave me a grim nod.

When I left the chapel and sauntered into the common area, Jasmine was there with the baby, but there was no sign of Soleil. The rest of the ol’ ladies were all going gaga over Chains’s baby girl.

As I approached, the women all looked up.

“Where’s Soleil?” I asked with a frown. They looked at me like I had a big purple dick on my forehead.

“What are you talking about? You just sent for her.” Loralei spoke to me as if I was a small child—or an idiot.

“No, I didn’t. We just walked out of the chapel,” I argued. Something wasn’t sitting right with me. “Who said I sent for her?”

Unease settled in, and my stomach churned.
