He tucked his arm under his head. He’d do whatever it took to be the best stepfather to Sammy and protect them both.

THE NEXT MORNING HEhad showered and dressed, and Olivia still hadn’t stirred.

“Hey, sleeping beauty,” he said, sitting on the side of the bed kissing her forehead.

“Hey,” she said, opening her eyes then bolting upright, nearly smashing heads with him.

“Whoa,” he laughed.

“What time is it?” she asked, rubbing her eyes. The sheets fell to her lap, and he tried really hard not to cup her breast.

And failed.

“Eight thirty. I’ve got a wedding meeting with Daniel and Harper in thirty minutes. I better go to this one.” He smirked. “I’ll be home after lunch.”

She moaned into his touch.

“I better go, or I’ll be late.” He kissed her lips and then decided life was too short not to enjoy what was in front of him.

He leaned down and suckled on her nipple as she fell back onto the pillows. Her fingers slipped through his hair.

“Oh, God, Fletch.” She groaned as his tongue circled the pink globe.

Shit.

He tugged the sheet down and pushed her legs apart.

He was going to be late.

CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT

On Wednesday, Oliviawalked into the Dufort Hotel offices. It had been nearly two weeks since she had agreed to come back.

She’d stayed at Fletchers all weekend, making love to him and snuggling on the couch. Aside from Fletcher going to see Harper and Daniel, neither of them left the house until she had to collect Sammy.
