“I will take care of it,” Daniel said. “It looks lovely on you.”

“I think she’ll love it.” Harper didn’t take her eyes off it as she spoke.

The manager cleared his throat.

“I will give you both a moment to make your decision,” he said, and left them alone. Daniel was going to make sure this man got a juicy bonus for his performance today.

“Do you love it?” he asked, leaning down into her hair. He could tell already but wanted to be sure.

“Yes, it’s exquisite. A timeless piece,” Harper said, twisting it back and forth, and he knew she was catching the diamonds in the light so it would sparkle. He might not know her well, but Daniel sensed she was going to be mad when she found out about his deceit.

It was just a little white lie.

“Good. Then let’s get it wrapped up and head back to the hotel,” he said and magically the manager appeared and took his black credit card.

He handed her the bag to carry and swing like she had with all her other goodies, but Harper crushed it to her chest.

“Did he even say how much it was?” she asked, and he glanced down at her.

“No. It’s a gift. It doesn’t matter.”

“Make sure you get her the insurance. On a teacher’s salary, it might not be affordable,” she said, looping her arm through his as they walked to the car.

She was entirely too damn good for him.

And yet, when he got them home, he knew he was ripping her shorts off her and fucking her hard.
