Damn wine.

“You don’t date?”

She shook her head.

“Ever?”

Harper let out a sigh. “My fiancé of five years left me three months ago. I dated a few guys when I was a teenager, but otherwise, no.”

She felt her cheeks blush with embarrassment.

“A bit different from the usual woman you take out for a drink, I bet.”

She risked a glance up at the man standing far too closely. He looked down at her and nodded. “Very.”

Harper bit the side of her cheek, feeling like a fool. While she’d been trying to keep away from this man, she knew she wanted him. Foolishly, she had thought he would want her too.

How silly of her.

Daniel Dufort had experienced beautiful women in his life, who were no doubt fabulous dates. Afterwards, he’d go home with them and have wild sex she could only dream of.

Perhaps with two women.

Her eyes widened.

God, she was so inexperienced. She’d wanted to try different things, but David had told her to stop reading her book porn.

“It doesn’t make them more attractive,” Daniel said, turning to face her.

“It?”

His hand lifted to her cheek. “The women back home. You’re an extremely beautiful and sexy woman, Harper.”

She swallowed.

“Your ex. He was a fool to leave you,” he added, his eyes dark as he stared at her lips like his life depended on it.

She blinked.

Was he going to kiss her?

She licked her lips before she knew what she was doing, and he groaned.

“If you do that again, Harper, I know you have enough experience to understand what I’m going to do next.”

She swallowed and nodded.

Please do it.

“Is that a yes?” he asked, his eyes darting from her lips to her eyes, looking for her answer.

Her mouth parted to answer, and the doors dinged open. Harper looked behind him into the hallway, and Daniel tightened his grip on her face.

“Answer the question,” he demanded, his other hand pressing the button to hold the lift doors open. And then he was taking a step closer, pressing her against the glass wall.

A small noise escaped her.

“I need you to say yes.” His mouth was mere inches from hers.
