“Oh, God,” Eva said, hands around her boobs. “Are you serious right now? Three thousand bucks for a pair of tits?”

“Yep. And the doctors are the best there, too,” Patricia said with a nod.

“I could do that. I’ve got three thousand dollars,” Eva said, looking down at herself—at her boobs that were even bigger than mine.

“You don’t need implants, Eva,” I reminded her. Her boobs looked great.

“But the boob envy,” she said with a groan.

“I’ve got boob envy,” Hunter said with a shrug. “You should definitely go for it.”

“I might, too,” Patricia said, cupping her own, which were smaller.

“I’ll come with. We could all get a couple weeks off,” Hunter said—and he meant it.

“Jessica Rabbit style—boom,” Eva said, slamming her hands on the desk.

“Totally. I’d do seven hundred,” said Patricia.

“Totally. Your shoulders are wider. You could definitely pull it off,” Eva said, nodding her head as she analyzed Patricia’s shoulders.

“We should schedule right now,” Hunter said, grabbing his phone again. “What’s the doctor’s name?”

“Don’t you guys think it’s best to wait and see how they look on Loren first? You know, just to make sure they did a good job,” I said. They all turned to me, confused, like my words didn’t make much sense. I shrugged. What the hell did I know about boob jobs, anyway?

“She’s right,” Eva said with a sigh. “Three thousand bucks is way too cheap. They probably fucked it up.”

“Yeah. Come to think of it, the last surgeon I saw about this asked for thirteen thousand,” Patricia said.

“Well, damn. I’ve always wanted to see Istanbul,” Hunter whispered, and for a moment, they were all lost in their thoughts, staring at their desks. They were such goofs, but I loved them to death.

“Okay, two more,” Patricia said, pulling herself out of her trance. “Cecile said that Mark from Research gave away his skin.”

“No way,” Eva said. “But he’s so cute!”

“Who was it? Someone from the office?” I asked, actually curious. Mark worked with the research crew, and he was a selkie. When selkies gave away their animal skins, they were mated. They practicallybelongedto anyone they willingly gave that skin to.

“No idea—that’s the thing. Cecile’s been keeping her ears open, but he hasn’t mentioned names. Just that he emailed his manager about it and asked to work only the first and second shift from now ongv.”

“That’s actually sweet,” I mumbled. He didn’t want to spend the whole night at the office now that he had someone to go home to.

“I wonder who it is,” Eva said, looking around the office suspiciously. “It has to be one of ours.”

“Who else? He literally spends all his day in this building,” Hunter said.

“Maybe Tinder? I think someone said they saw the app on his phone, but I’m not sure,” Patricia said. “But anyway, third and last one.” And she lowered down to her desk, like always. “Alma from HR apparently called in Ms. Tate from scout management for a meeting after our shift ended.” She smiled slowly, like she wanted to build anticipation. “And the reason was…she has a pink dildo in her desk drawer in her office.”

We all burst out laughing at the same time. Definitely not what I was expecting.

“Wait—isn’t she likea thousandyears old?” Eva said, shoulders still shaking.

“Fifty something, according to Cecile,” said Patricia, wiping tears from her eyes.

“Good for her, though, right?” said Hunter. “She’s taking care of business. Go Ms. Tate!”

“You shouldn’t tell us these things, Patricia,” I said. “Now I’ll never be able to look at her the same way again.”

“Right? I’ll forever imagine a pink dildo inside her from this moment on,” she said, laughing some more.
