“That’s not any of your business.”

“You didn’t answer my question. Also, where will you be staying if not here? You're not allowed to spend the night in the dorm rooms after hours.”

“Like I said, none of your business. I’ll be back Sunday morning,” I tell him and take a step forward to move past him. He sidesteps to block me. Muttering under my breath, I move to the other side, but he does the same thing.

“Let me pass, Isaac,” I growl out.

“Not until you tell me where you're going,” he demands, crossing his arms, refusing to budge. I could set his ass on fire if I wanted to.Maybe I should.

“You are not the boss of me. I’m eighteen. I’m a big girl who can care for myself just fine, thank you very much. I’ll be fine. You don’t need to know where I’m going.”

He steps closer, so close I can smell him. He smells like spicy aftershave and freshly cleaned clothes. Looming over me, I have to tip my head back to meet his eyes.

“Well, little sister, our mother asked me to watch over you. And what kind of big brother would I be if I let you run wild, getting into all sorts of trouble?”

“Yeah, because you care so much about my well-being.” I roll my eyes.

“Your mother asked me as a favor, and you may hate her, but I don’t. She’s done a lot for me in my life, and she’s as close to a mother as I’m ever gonna have. And if you come back hungover Sunday, it looks bad on me.”

“Well, lucky for you, I’m only drinking tonight, so I’ll be fine by Sunday morning.”

“Where are you staying tonight?”

I can see I’m not going to be getting out of here anytime soon if I don’t give this stubborn asshole what he wants.

“Fine. I’m going to the dorms to get ready with Penny and Leo, then we're going to meet up with Zed and go to a party. I’ll be spending the night at his place.”

“The hell you will.” The growl that leaves his chest sends a shiver down my spine.

“He’s my mate, Isaac. I’m going to be around him whether you like it or not. He’s a part of my life, and I know you don’t like him here, so I’m going to him.”

“No.”

“What?” My brows pinch.

“I told you to stay away from him,” he demands.

“And I told you to go fuck yourself then, and I’ll tell you again now.”

“Abby,” he warns. “Stay away from him.”

“Bite me!” I snap back.

“You're a fucking brat, you know that?”

“Like you have room to talk? Look, I’ve kept your secret to myself and haven’t told anyone about where you’ve been sticking your dick. You know, the girls who aren’t your betrothed. So, don’t be going off on me for going over to Dark Night when you're the one fucking the girls from there.”

“You really need to be minding your own business, and stay out of people’s shit,” he snaps.

My eyes widen, and I snort out a laugh. “You're kidding me right? Pot calling the kettle black much? You know what, screw this. I’m going to see my mate and friend. Then we're going to meet up with my other mate. Then I’m gonna have fun. Maybe even make things official with Zed before the night is up. Meet his mom the next day all while living my best fucking life.”

“What’s going on up here?” Luke asks, but Isaac and I don’t back down from our standoff, chests heaving as we stare at each other like we don’t know if we want to kill the other or fuck them.

The thought sends a flush through my body. Fuck, I need to get out of here.

“I was just leaving,” I tell Luke, being the first one to look away. Stepping around Isaac, I leave him standing there like a pissed off bull and head down the stairs.

The two of them start to have a hushed argument, but I don’t stick around to find out what it's about. With my bag over my shoulder, I head out to my car to get the hell out of this house, away from those three boys, who know how to push all my buttons and make me flustered at the same time.
