“Ohhh, you’re right. You thought of everything. It’s a good
thing. I don’t want to have to go out and brave the craziness
two days before Christmas.”
“Or the day before.”
“That would be the worst.”
“The day of would be the absolute worst.”
“Is there anything open on Christmas even?”
“We’ll probably be SOL.”
Quinn shoved the bags with all their ornaments in it
towards the tree. All the noise attracted the kittens, who came
bounding into the room. One attacked the tree, pouncing on
the lower branches, while the other attacked a plastic bag that
had decorations in it.
“I give the tree about ten minutes before it’s completely
taken apart.” Quinn stared at the tree and décor with a worried
expression.
“Oh well. Then we’ll get to decorate it twice. Or three
times. Or four.”
“Why not five?”
“Or six.”
Dallas walked over and scooped up Benny. She tucked him
up against her chest, but he was busy and intent on
disassembling the shopping bags to get at the Christmas décor.
There were quite a few little things with feathers and different
balls that would delight a small kitten. Dallas let him go back
to exploring the bags.
She walked over to Quinn instead. Quinn was studying the
tree so intently that she didn’t see Dallas walk up behind her.
She leaned into her immediately though, and let out a happy
sigh.
