space and visitor spots, but since it was Saturday morning and
people were probably running errands, Dallas did find one free
parking spot. She walked down the parking lot towards
Quinn’s place. She figured that the whole complex was
probably built twenty or so years before.
It seemed like a nice complex, even if it was a little
industrial looking. People had tried to brighten up their little
porches with flowers and lawn ornaments on the tiny patches
of grass. Dallas wasn’t sure if Quinn owned the condo or if she
rented it. She wasn’t sure what the prices of real estate were
like in Topeka.
Dallas’ parents had to help her purchase her condo a
couple years back. They just co-signed the mortgage, but for
the first few years, they did help her with the mortgage
payments too. She was fresh out of college when she bought it.
She didn’t have many student loans because she’d worked her
butt off at part time jobs and her parents had some money
saved for school, but after she graduated, she was pretty broke.
They helped her with the place so she could stop throwing
money away on rent. Now that she had a good job, she was
fine, but without that boost from her parents, she’d probably
still be renting an apartment. That would have been fine, but
Dallas was glad to have the opportunity to have something that
was hers.
She had to admit that she had a full stomach of
butterflies before she even stepped onto the porch and rang the
bell. Quinn answered right away, and when she pulled open
the door and looked Dallas up and down, all she could do was
