After her coffee and reading, Dallas set the book aside
and hit the shower. She brushed her teeth and chose one of her
last clean outfits. She’d brought a summery, lightweight dress.
It was dark green and she had a black cardigan to go with it. It
was way too formal. She’d brought it anticipating that she
might need something dressier than leggings or jeans, but it

other things she could lose her mind worrying about. She was
excited to see Quinn again, but also worried that she wouldn’t
listen to what Dallas had to say and would make assumptions
based on what happened in the past. That stressed her out, so
instead she focused on traffic and watching the time.
At five minutes before eleven, Dallas pulled into a
large condo complex. It wasn’t a new build. The beige stucco
buildings were tall and on the thin side, with tiny porches. The
whole complex went around in a U shape. The developer had
packed as many in as possible and neglected things like green
