“Probably.” He grinned. “You want to crash tonight?”
“Yeah.”
I might be reckless and drink too much, but I wasn’t stupid. I didn’t drink and drive, and since I’d taken the van, it was either stay the night or stop drinking now so I’d be sober enough to go home when Tripp was plastered and sleeping it off.
Fuck that.
I was in a mood, and I wanted to drink.
I drained the last of my screwdriver, grimacing at the overwhelming taste of vodka that had settled on the bottom hit.
“Hey, Ash.”
I looked up. Genesis was standing at the door, wearing a tiny miniskirt and a top that looked more like a bandanna than a shirt.
“Hey, Gen.”
Last year, we’d hooked up a few times, but she was a grade A clinger, and I wasn’t in the mood to deal with that tonight.
“Miss me?” She came into the room and plopped down onto my lap.
She was petite, but I hadn’t been expecting it, and the airwooshedfrom my lungs.
She blinked prettily at me as I pulled in a few deep breaths.
“Sure did, doll face.” I shook my cup. “Be a dear and get me a refill?”
“Only if you give me a kiss as a thank-you.” She pouted her full lips.
“You got it, babe.”
She took the glass and jumped up, nearly falling as she teetered on her heels.
“You can use Brett’s room. He’s not coming in until tomorrow.” Tripp nodded to the door. “Just don’t tell him you fucked on his bed.”
“Yeah. Not happening.”
“She’s hot.”
“She is. But she thinks that fucking means we’re suddenly boyfriend and girlfriend.”
“Too bad. The cute ones are always crazy.”
“Yeah.”
I didn’t really agree with that. Gen was looking for a boyfriend. That didn’t mean she was crazy. She just needed to realize that not every guy who stuck his dick in her was going to be her prince charming.
Especially not me.
“Here you go.” Gen appeared in the door, a big smile on her face as she wobbled into the room on her sky-high heels.
“Thanks, doll.” I took the cup and put it beside me on the floor.
She plopped down onto my lap again.
“Where’s my kiss?” she asked with a cute little pout.
“Right here.”
