“Yes.” She claps her tiny hands and looks at Estelle, who I’m surprised has a more relaxed smile on her face.
It looks like I might have cracked the ice queen exterior. Only a little, though.
“It’s snack time,” Estelle says. “You can eat in here and get to know her, or you may choose to sit by the lake.”
“The lake sounds great,” I reply. “Will it be okay if we stay outside for a little while?”
Children love anything outdoors.
“Yes, I don’t see that being a problem.”
“Yay,” I say to Mia. “We can go on an adventure.”
Mia laughs out loud and claps again.
“Well, it seems like she likes you,” Estelle states. “That’s good. I’ll allow you to do what you have planned. Just wrap things up before five so she can get cleaned up for dinner.”
“I will, thanks.”
