“What happened?” Millie was on the edge of her seat.

“He just strode into the room and kissed me,” I relayed. “It was very sudden.”

“What did you do?”

“I kissed him back,” I admitted. “I didn’t really think I liked him that way, but as soon as he made his feelings known, I just responded.”

Millie grinned, sitting back in her chair like a Cheshire cat.

“I’m not like you,” I insisted. “I’m kind of dating Damien.”

“Are you really dating him?” she asked.

“Yes,” I exclaimed. “Sort of. I don’t know. I think we are. We haven’t talked about it, but I’m sure he wouldn’t want me kissing his partner.”

“Then you have to talk to him about it,” Millie advised.

“What do I say?”

“Tell him what you told me.”

“Even the part about liking it?” I grimaced.

“Especially that part,” Millie said.

“But won’t he think I’m a slut?”

Millie shook her head adamantly. “We don’t use that word. There’s nothing wrong with falling in love with more than one person.”

“I never said that I was in love,” I reminded her.

“There’s nothing wrong with liking more than one person,” she corrected herself.

I reached for the wine glass, taking a thoughtful sip. Millie’s unique relationship worked out for her and her three men, but I didn’t think the same kind of thing was in the cards for me. Yes, I liked Damien and yes, I was beginning to like both Sean and Kent. Kent for obvious reasons and Sean because of that amazing kiss we’d shared. That didn’t mean I was free to experiment with all three of them.

There were rules that governed relationships, and most often, you were supposed to stick with one guy. Even if I was playing the field, I couldn’t convince them to share my affections equally, could I?

As soon as the thought was introduced, it took hold. Maybe it was possible to be interested in both Damien and Sean. They each had their own attributes that I found enticing. Each was stunningly masculine in his own way.

Sean was a bit of a bad boy while Damien was all power and control. I wondered what it would be like to take my exploration of Sean further. If we hadn’t been in the office earlier that day but alone somewhere exotic, who knew what might have happened? I could have found myself much further down the rabbit hole.

“I guess I do have to talk to him,” I allowed.

“The sooner the better,” Millie said.

“Okay,” I agreed. “I’ll see where he is.”

I texted Damien and found out that he was still at work. It was highly likely that both Sean and Kent were still there. If that was the case, I wanted to meet on neutral ground. Having made the decision to confess my sin to the one who came closest to being an official boyfriend, I didn’t want the others to overhear.

Can I meet you tonight?I asked.

Sure,he responded. Dinner?

Just drinks,I said. I didn’t have the stamina to sit through an entire romantic dinner before spilling my secret. I wanted to get it over with. Can I come by your place?

I’ll meet you there around eight, he replied.

I gave him a thumbs up and looked back at Millie. “I’m meeting with him at eight.”
