Chapter 16
MICHAEL
What we were about to do, breaking into my father’s home, was so much more dangerous than I could explain to Monique. Too many steps had to go exactly right for us to pull this off, and yet, we were out of options.

Monique bit her lip.
“Hold my hand,” I told her. “I’m the one holding the spell. The other one won’t be, okay?”

Monique number two’s jaw dropped. “What the hell is going on?”
I glanced at the real Monique and couldn’t help but chuckle at the identical look of shock on her face.
“They look so... real,” she whispered.
“Theyarereal. Clones, but real.” I nodded at my own clone. “How are you guys going today?”
Monique number two and Michael number two exchanged glances like I was the crazy one.
“What’s going on here?” Michael Two asked in a suspicious tone.
I gave them a quick rundown and, unexpectedly, they seemed to understand and accept the situation straight away.
