He shook his head. “You’ll find someone you’re comfortable with, little one. Someone who deserves you. You don’t have to settle for me.”

He called me little one. The name sent a rush of pleasure through me even though I doubted he even noticed he called me that. “I feel comfortable with you,” I said. “I want you.”

“No,” he growled. “You haven’t even had your first kiss yet. You don’t understand. I would hurt you. I wouldn’t try to. But it would happen.”

Normally I would agree with him and drop the subject. But I couldn’t even imagine him hurting me. He had been so kind and patient with me. “I know I don’t know a lot,” I said. “But I do know I want you. And you want me. So can we try it? And just see where things turn out?”

“It won’t be long before you’re back to your old life and away from me,” he said. “I don’t want to confuse you. Or corrupt you.”

The thought of going back home wasn’t appealing any longer. I didn’t want to talk to my parents. Not after what they did. “I’m comfy with you,” I said. “I feel safe with you. Even if it doesn’t work out, I want you to be my first kiss.”

A small growl escaped him and I thought he was going to resist more, but instead, he nodded. “Okay, little one.” He stood up and walked over to me before sitting next to me. His hand covered mine. “Are you sure?” He said. “You can still back out. We don’t even have to talk about this again.”

“I’m sure,” I whispered. I had never been more sure in my life.

He leaned down and his face drew nearer to me. Butterflies erupted in my stomach with anticipation. And then his lips touched mine.

I sighed as I leaned into the kiss. It felt so good. He felt so good. His lips were warm and soft and they were gentle like I knew they would be.

He reached out to cup my cheek. He touched me as if I was made of glass.

He groaned softly as he pulled away from me. “Did you enjoy that, little one?” he asked.

“Yes, Daddy,” I said. A thrill of excitement went through me when I called him that. Somehow the name fit perfectly.
