Icould really get used to traveling like this. Throughout the flight, Adrien worked, and I forgot how sexy he looked when juggling different tasks.

I’m not too sure how much of my book I read. I just know a couple of the pages I’ve had to read more than once because he was so distracting.

We get off the plane, and a limo is waiting for us at the bottom of the steps.

This guy is too much sometimes. I know he must be doing all this for me, and it’s sweet. But he’s going to need to stop.

We talk the whole car ride to his house, but I have no idea where we are. I just know we’re near the ocean. We stop at a big gate and the driver types in a code before driving the rest of the way.

My jaw hits the floor.

Upon opening the door, my jaw remains open as I turn in a circle, taking in the amazing view and the enormous house in front of me.

I hear the click of a phone and a small laugh.

Turning round to see Adrien smiling at me as he types away on his phone.

My phone pings in my bag, and I know it must be Ady on our group chat. He walks up a couple of steps and opens the door for me.

The house is gorgeous. Of course, you see houses like this in movies and on TV, but to be standing in one in the flesh is something else.

I feel his arms around me, and he kisses the back of my neck. I am taken around the house. It’s covered in glass from floor to ceiling, and the view is amazing from every room.

The best view though is at the back of the house. He takes me by the hand and pulls me outside.

There’s wooden decking with couches and outdoor seating, as well as a family size outdoor dining table.

But the best thing is the pool.

The outside is amazing. My hands are holding onto my chest, and I’m fighting back tears.

“You like it, then.”

“Ady. I love it. But how on earth did you afford this place? I don’t think you’ve been truthful with me about what you’ve been up to the last few years. You robbed a bank, didn’t you?”

We both laugh.

“Here, take a seat. I’ll grab us a bottle of wine, and we can order some food in tonight.”

He goes into the house and comes out with a bottle, a cooler and two glasses, then he tells me his story. How he’d invested well since leaving college and just carried on. Decided he didn’t like some of the things happening at Mason Marketing and decided he'd build up a good name for himself on the West Coast to start out on his own. Then he bought out a small streaming company and has a controlling interest in that. He moved to LA because he was spending more, and more time here for meetings.

“About eighteen months ago, I decided I wanted to broaden my portfolio. So I bought the two hotels, and I’m in the process of buying another one. The marketing side is great because it’s all in house for the hotels. What I want you to do is to head over there and concentrate on that. Simon will carry on with the outside work. You’ll have your own team. Simon has been managing the two teams, one of which you are now going to be running. You’ll have about six people working under you. A good guy on the team is Alex. We thought about promoting him, but he’s just not ready yet”

“And how do they feel about me stepping over them all to take over? Alex especially?”

“Well? None of them got promoted when I kept asking who he wanted me to promote. They’re all a good bunch, though, and they’re like family. I think you’re going to fit in perfectly. I’ll introduce you to everyone on Wednesday. I thought I’d give you tomorrow to settle in. Maybe let me take you shopping. You’ll have a lot of stuff to sign, so I thought you could pop by the office at lunchtime tomorrow, and I can take the afternoon off?”

“Ady, all that sounds great, but you’ve just been away for a week. You need to be in the office.”

“We’ll see.”

I know he’s just saying that to shut me up, and frankly, I don’t care at this moment.

One Month Later

Arrivingat AB Enterprises never gets old. Adrien and I’ve have got our routine down to a fine art form.
