The other two girls look at me like I’ve suddenly morphed horns or something. They also look a little shocked. Rude!

“Yeah, Sara and Adrien dated when he lived in New York,” Catherine said, taking another sip of her champagne.

When are they going to call out my name to make the final adjustments to my dress?

Ady and I have been moving pretty quick the last two days, and he has got me a new job that I am so looking forward to taking.

But we never discussed how public we wanted to be this weekend.

Hell, I’ve not even told Catherine about the new job yet. Signing that contract was pretty good. But we agreed we would not tell Catherine and Bryan about my big move until after the wedding.

I refuse to be that friend who takes away any limelight from the bride.

“Yeah, we worked at the same marketing firm in New York.”

“Yeah, they also dated.”

Catherine couldn’t move the shit-eating grin off her face if she tried.

“In fact, Bryan and I have hardly seen the pair of them since they got here. It seems there’s something in the air.”

Both girls start to get that look in their eyes. You know the look. We’ve all shared that look. It’s the what does he, or she, see in the other person look. It’s then I realize Catherine isn’t really that close to these girls.

“Sara” shouts a lady walking in from behind the curtain.

Finally. Thank God for that.

I jump out of my seat way faster than is appropriate, and I partly run after the woman.

A little while later, after only having to have the dress slightly turned up at the bottom of the dress, I walk out to the girls who look like they moved onto another bottle of champagne.

It also looks like some men have decided to grace us with their presence.

Ady’s stood with Bryan, while Jaime and Katie throw themselves at Ady. I’ll give it to Ady for the first time in a long time. He looks completely uncomfortable.

He must sense that I’ve walked back into the room because he turns, smiling at me.

I smile at him, so he knows I’m not mad. If I got mad every time someone threw themselves or flirted with him, I’d be mad all the damn time.

He pulls himself away from the girls, walks over to me, kisses me so hard I start to lose my balance and I have to grip onto his wrists.

“Adrien, she is back. Stop pulling your face. He got grumpy when I told him to wait. If he had his way, you would both be joined at the hip right now.” Bryan says to Ady. “I’m telling you, Sara, it took all my strength to stop him sneaking in there.”

Adrien pretends to pout at me, and we all laugh. Well, four of us laugh.

“Yeah, I told him you wouldn’t mind one bit,” Catherine said, standing up and grabbing her things.

Catherine would be right.

I looked out of the corner of my eye and see Jaime and Katie deep in conversation, giving me the evil eye.

“Someone looks like they have a bit of a fan club.”

I whisper in Ady’s ear. Kissing him under his ear.

“Thank you for saving me from that. Bryan was zero help. I think he actually got off watching it all play out. His cousin is quite a handful.”

“I didn’t know only one of the girls was Bryan’s cousin. I thought they both were.”

“Yeah. Katie is, but not Jaime. Katie, Jaime and him were all in High School together. Jaime’s family has been friends with Bryan's since they were tiny,” he smiles, putting his arms round my middle before turning to the group.

“Ok ladies, me and Ady have a surprise for you all this afternoon. I have booked out the spa in the hotel for you lovely ladies to pamper yourselves.”

Everyone gets really excited and thank Bryan. It might have been Bryan’s idea, but if I know Ady at all, there is no way he’s going to let his friend pay for it.

We all arriveat the hotel, and Adrien pulls me to one side. Jaime and Katie seem to have stopped giving me the evil eye for now.

Obviously happy with the free spa day. Anything that keeps us all apart is good with me.
