“Did you find anything?” Tor asks as we walk in.
“A lot of suspicious movement but nothing concrete, anything on this side?” Asger asks as we sit at the same table as Tor and Eirik.
“Yeah, looks like the founder of KER might be more difficult to find than we thought but that has been the usual with this operation. Celmund says that KER is a government-run company.” I tense at Eirik’s revelation. What the fuck does that mean?
“The interesting thing though is that when Celmund dug into the company’s finances there is a large amount of cash being injected into the company from a private source.”
“You know what I think,” Asger asks, “I think that we are going to have a hell of a time finding who the real mastermind behind this organization is, the only thing that we can do for now is carry on fighting each and every abduction and try and find the women. For now, we have a lead that they will be moving something or someone in one of the containers in the next few days, therefore we stop that one.”
“I think we shouldn’t,” I say which earns me scowls from the other three men, “no, just listen. If we don’t stop it, then we can follow the guys that drop the women off and have someone on the other side seeing who picks them up and where they are taken to.”
“I don’t like playing with their lives, you saw how debilitated they were when we found your mate and the other one,” Eirik says, and I know that what he is saying is true, but I don’t see which other way we will catch the fuckers.
“Actually, he has a point,” Tor states as he sits forward placing his beer bottle on the table.
“What?” Eirik asks a surprised look on his face.
“I’m not saying we leave them in the container but I’m thinking that instead of going in with guns blazing we let them finalize the transaction. We follow the men that drop off the women and once the container is on the ship, we take the women out without anyone knowing. We get someone in Russia to do the same, see who goes to pick up the women and then follow their movements.”
“That could work, but we don’t have much time to plan,” Eirik says as he stands, “I will call the others, it doesn’t help that we are down three men with this security gig,” he mutters as he walks away.
“Well, I’m going to go and find Anastasia. Call me when you need me.” I get up but stop when Tor calls my name.
“She asked me if her parents could come and visit.” If she wants her parents to come and visit that means that she wants to stay with me and that she realizes that this is the best place for her. I was worried that she would try and go back home with all the talk this morning, but if she has asked for her parents to come and visit, that means that she has accepted that her life is with me. I raise a brow in question, it is one thing me wanting her here, but it is another when we get civilians here and they might stumble on what we are.
“I told her that we have two flats at the back that we still need to finish, once they are complete then they are welcome here.” I had forgotten about the flats; they were Garth’s idea, but we all got tired of the building and left it when this trafficking ring blew up around us.“
“I had forgotten about those.” They look decent enough from the outside but it’s the inside that still needs work.
“Well if you want your woman’s parents anywhere near here, I suggest that you finish one of them.” Shit, I wasn’t expecting to still have to do that. Nodding I turn to go and find Garth, if anything he will help with the building after all it was his idea.
“Hey Bro, I need help.” Garth raises his head from where he’s leaning over his bike.
“What?” well doesn’t seem like he’s in the best of moods, darn, because I really need him to agree to this.
“Anastasia wants her parents to come and visit.” I state.
“So, what has that got to do with me?” he throws the rag that he was holding on the seat of his bike and sits back giving me his full attention.
“Tor has agreed.” He raises a brow but doesn’t comment, “but only if one of the flats are finished.”
“Well looks like you have quite a task ahead of you,” he mutters.
“That’s where I need your help, you the only one that knows what to do there,” I state and see him shrug.
“Have you heard of YouTube, it’s great to find out how to do stuff.”
“But building them was your idea, I thought you would be excited to help finish one,” I say as I cross my arms across my chest.
“I would have been maybe a year back, but none of you were interested in finishing them.” He grabs his cloth as he looks back at his bike and shrugs. “There is way too much to do there for only the two of us, anyway.”
“Fine, I will ask the others to help,” I reply.
“Good luck,” he mutters as his head disappears around the bike again.
“If they agree will you help?” the only answer I get is a grunt, damn, I had to get him on a day that he’s in one of his moods.
